I think Bunce seems to love controversy, and creating fish & chip wrappers. Many of his opinions are spot on, with the odd ridiculous statement thrown in. He may have been rather assertive in his views, but in truth he isn't far wide of the mark. Anyone who saw Thompson's lame effort against Klitschko and Eddie Chambers having a shocker in a fight recently must surely agree. We are in the middle of the Playstation generation over here, but there it is far worse with the majority of people sitting on their arse eating KFC and McD's - instead of doing something useful with their time. Such as becoming a world class sportsperson.:deal
Bunce has a decent knowledge of the sport, its just a shame he comes across as a total dickhead on tv, eg when he tries to sound cool by calling people 'kid' or when he says 'take it away bossman' .. I prefer analysts like Mcguigan, pre ITV , or Jonny Nelson .. And to be fair Bunce is not enlightening anybody when he talks about the state of the heavyweights, this division is an absolute joke, Sykes was a disgrace but Povetkin is almost as limited as Wlad ..... Haye is gonna sort these bums out
Johnny Nelson is excellent when both fighters are the same colour. When that changes he becomes hopeless, especially his scorecards. Anyone who scored Williams vs Quintana 117-111 to Williams should be in a secure unit.
That is a great point, how the hell he got that scoreline wrong is beyond me, i had that fight 4 rounds to Quintana, but 99% of the time Jonny is excellent, Bunce on the otherhand talks absolute shite for 65% of the time, no im being far to harsh on him, but he does have a really irritating way of talking, and i hate the way he is described as a 'Boxing Guru' on his boxing hour on setanta, that is ridiculous, Budd Schulberg or Bert Sugar are Boxing Guru's, Bunce is an analyst, no more, no less
