I'm not sure Darkus Howe would have been able handle the Buncey of today.......

 

I think the 24hr weigh-in has made a major difference.

They also have to have oxygen at ringside too. The lack of ringside oxygen was what compounded Watson's injury as his brain was starved of oxgen until they got him in an ambulance. I have no doubt it's a safer sport now and also ref's are much more cagey on the whole and tend to step in sooner. Ultimately though it's two blokes trying to knock each other out so will inevitably end in tragedy on occaision
