Irish Steve Colling was one of the best super middleweights of the 90's, he had 2 wins ove Chris Eubank, 2 over nigel Benn and fought the likes of Mike McCallum, Sumbu Kalambay and had a MD loss to Reggie Johnson. He had one of boxings best chins and wss always entertaining. I met Collins at Petronelli's gym in Brockton around '89, '90 and worked out with him for a few hours. Very nice guy. I am probably biased because of this but am wondering if anyone thinks the celtic warrior has a shot at getting inducted into Cantasota?

No. Collins was good, maybe very good but not great.

Hall of FAME, FAME. People know Gatti. 4 time"fight of year" fights. Comeback fighter of the year. Winner of "KO of the year".

Gatti is a legend, plus he died young that always helps the voters.

I know. I'm just saying that there's no doubt Collins was good enough and accomplished enough inside the ring that he should get in. Unfortunately, he just wasn't FAMOUS enough. Stallone and Gatti on the other hand...

Stallone is in as a non participant, that has no bearing on boxers. Collins accomplishments are far greater than Gatti's though and was a popular fighter, though not on a Gatti level. He was on network tv in the states and very popular in Europe. I think his wins over Benn and Eubank should get him in. Hell, he has a better resume than Calzaghe in Joe is in.

There are a lot of non great fighters in Cantastota. Gatti, McGuigan and Laszlo Papp sring immediately to mind.

I am against what he admitted to doing to those girls on that tape...But I liked his show so much...I'm really torn on this.

So Collins shouldn't get in despite having a way better career than Gatti? The HOF is a joke.
