i dont know what you lot are complaining this is a great fight, you have one of the greatest fighters of all time fighting in the ring against a fighter who was great before tarver and johnson got him steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvooo someone on my facebook said belfast is a possibility, might go to that it would be great
If I wanted to see a 50 year old lunatic have a fight and get his face smashed in then I'd go my local pub. How Collins thinks this is a good idea is beyond me.
come on cut the guy some slack he is trying to make a living and if that means dragging boxing through the mud then so be it
I'm not worried about him embarrassing the sport mate, I'm worried about him embarrassing and hurting himself. He's 50 odd, has brain damage and hasn't fought in 15 years. He should be sitting back and taking it easy in retirement whilst enjoying the legacy he made for himself in his career. Pulling a crazy stunt like this could not only damage his reputation that he worked hard to build but also health. Someone close to him needs to take him aside, give a slap and tell him what he's doing is insane. He'll do himself no good with this. If he really thinks money and fame is more important than legacy and health then he's a sad man.
Yes he does, it ended his career. It's not to the extent where he it seriously affects his everyday life but it was bad enough to make doctors tell him to retire because the punches he was taking were causing serious damage. Even if he was the fittest middle-aged bloke on the planet, I think the brain injury he has would prevent him from getting a licence with the BBBofC. It's probably why they reckon the fight's happening abroad.
Collins got sparked in training before Calzaghe which was not normal for him considering he had a granite jaw. It was enough to make him retire on medical advice. Collin's ego is his biggest danger. He probably thinks he can still do it given he has the 2nd biggest head in Ireland after his brother Roddy. Jone's could murder Collins stone dead.
It won't happen, no doctor will recommend at 48 with a 15 year absence that he steps into the ring with a professional boxer who's likely still in the top 250 in the world. If this fight goes ahead, the system has failed Steve Collins.
