He physically and mentally destroyed him.. TWICE Cleverest performance I've seen inside and outside the ring
Agree that they were both great performances by Steve Collins, but Eubanks had lost his edge way before those 2 defeats. Almost killing Michael Watson in their 2nd fight diminished him, killing a road worker in his yank big truck diminished him, struggling to make SMW for years diminished him. Fighting purely for the money in his later career diminished him.
Yes but eubank had definitely lost something he wasn't the same fighter as he was a few years earlier
Maybe by then he'd achieved all he ever wanted, he was set up for life, and the Watson fight definitely affected him. Collins was class, though; I'd love to have seen them fight at their peak.
Eubank should off stopped him in the first fight but he'd lost his edge. Collings was there for the taking and eubank didnt capatilise on it. He was scared to hurt him.
Sorry old chap but it wasn't a close fight mccallum was always in control and won clearly. Collins was out pointed soundly mccallum gave an excellent exhibition of controlled boxing and how a fighter should pace himself
Eubank was in his prime and undefeated when he faced Collins.Cut the stupid petty excuses you just make yourself look stupid. He simply lost to the better man. Collins was brilliant in them fights.
Eubank was only 29 when he faced Collins but had a lot of fights behind him....he was un-beaten though and I expected more from him.Done well for a fighter with a few limitations. As for Collins he had the heart of a lion, would have loved to see him in with RJJ or Calzaghe.
