Joe was too versatile of a fighter over the 12 for Collins imo, although Collins would have pushed him the full 12.

The Stanford fight was definitely stopped too early and arguably the Manfredo fight.Manfredo was not firing back, but appeared unhurt. That's two out of nine stoppage wins in Cardiff .

 

This would be a horrible fight to watch between two very s****py fighters with ugly punch styles.

Nine stoppage wins in Cardiff,one retired in his corner in the 9th rd , another was down twice for 8 counts in the first round whereupon it was stopped.
In all five 1 round tko's, one 2nd rd tko,one 3rd tko. The third man who stopped the Stanford fight too early was Roddy Evans, he also stopped the Lawlor fight ,[tko2nd rd,]below.I cant realy find fault with this cessation Lawlor was shipping punishment and clearly outclassed.

Again below we have a very soft opponent who in top shape could probably still have made his original light middle division.
He ships a left straight to the bread basked and never really recovers the referee rightly intervenes when he isnt firing back.
The crowd cheer and are happy, though I would have been a bit more disgruntled at the calibre of opponent.

I noticed that Calzaghe was prone to hold with the right hand and hook with the left, he also threw a fair amount of blows to the back of the head.He did this in several fights.

Here is the Rosamund stoppage tko 1rd ,again ,nothing wrong with it, the guy was being thrashed.
We have to bear in mind these were soft opponents and referees may have erred on the side of caution ,personally I would prefer that to them letting a young man take unnecessary punishment with no hope of winning.

In conclusion there is some " fire" to go with the "smoke "you provided, but no evidence of collusion, or partiality as regards the stoppages. I'd be more concerned about the ref's allowing that holding and hitting, and the rabbit punches.
