I like Haye, don't me wrong, but his resume isn't all that great, win over what turned out to be an old Mormeck notwithstanding. I'm not saying Haye isn't good, but you can't discount a slick, fast boxer like Cunningham beating him.

Haye/Macca is a great fight. Maccarinelli is another guy underrated by folks on this board and a big knockout by Haye there would be very impressive, Macca being in his prime.

Well, Yoan Pablo Hernandez was impressive with his one punch KO over Mohamed Azzaoui.

Azzaoui was on the way up at 9,5 but the ref stopped it, maybe it was a little surprise for Barrovecchio that the Algerian was in pretty good condition by the 10th count but he was down for good before he jumped up. The Algerians loss to Maccarinelly less than 2 months ago (!) was a little bit interesting too but the thing is that the young Cuban made a lot shorter work than the Welsh at a very early stage at his carreer.

It was a quick stoppage but hernandez looked good and was more impressive than little mac.

At most he is the new John Ruiz, his fights are just terrible to watch.

Disagree completely. That was an entertaining fight today, knockout and all.

    Agreed.

I've been a Cunningham fan for a few years, but in fairness to those here who hadn't seen him other than the Wlodarczyk fights (admittedly, not good ones) it is hard to find his fights.

Still, it's always a bit depressing, the strong opinions that some folks here form on a boxer when they really have seen nothing of him.

What turned out to be an old Mormeck? How did that 'turn out'?

Basically your argument seems to be that Haye's knock out of Mormeck isn't as impressive as it seems due to Mormeck being old as can be seen from the fact that Haye knocked him out. A bit circular, no?

thought huck would win but thought 3/1 was really good odds on cunningham so i placed 10$. Not much but 30$ is nice.

BTW Huck is not a very good fighter. Cunningham really hasn't beaten anyone worth much so he is gonna be way overrated. I mean ask yourself what is Cunningham's best win?

Congrats on picking the winner! Beating Sauerland's boy in emphatic fashion erased memories of Steve's subpar performances against Wlodarczyk (who is better than given credit for).

Cunningham IS the class of the Cruiserweights. I reckon he would beat David Haye, though on paper, Haye is still the man at the weight.

Steve is the clearcut #2 at 200 lbs now. I would like to see him notch a few quick defences (in the USA for a change!) and face Adamek towards the end of next year.

Again, credit to Cunningham, he is a true champion. :bbb

Cunningham has beaten a load of top 5 through top 20 Cruiserweights. His best win would probably be avenging his loss to Wlodarczyk, the reigning champ at the time, in Poland, by decision. His resume is fairly impressive though, as far as Cruiserweight is concerened he is in the top 3 now with Haye at #1 and Maccarinelli at #3.

i watched the cunnigham v rothman fight saturday afternoon (thanks to diamonddave) and changed my opinion of cunningham after that.

last night v huck on the other man`s turf as early as round 4 you could tell there was only one winner and the fight was proabably even by then.

huck had shot his load and cunningham new he was there for the taking and duly took over.

hold my hands up, cunningham found a lot of flaws in huck and thats what good fighters do, i was wrong on my initial assesment ,although the rothman fight showed cunninghams true abiltys.

showed a solid chin and good stamina and took hucks will to win away , something i never saw coming .

should have used lateral movement to keep the onrushing huck from cornering him , but even so was never fazed by it.

not afraid to admit i was wrojng, styles make fights and in my defense i did sat if cunnigham planted his faster combois together and stood his ground his style was suited to giving huck problems.

also never for saw huck once he could not hurt his man losing heart and will to win.

shame cunninghams fight was not shown in america hopefully espn or someone will pick it up on delay .

cunningham onwards and upwards, huck on this performance might go down the pecking order on sauerlands bills.

To me he fights too much with his armpits, he's a bit like an octopus. Anyway he is greatly improving, hopefully he'll be in some better fights in the future. That KO last night is a good sign.
