That's very sporting and generous and all to give Adamek the 11th, but I'm very curious as to how he then wound up with 114-112 in his own favor? :think

Does everyone still have their scorecards for this one? :D If not, here's an excuse to re-view this Cruiserweight title war. :good

It might sound crazy but his score may have been slightly biased.

cant remember but i think i had adamek ahead and so did my wife. cunningham getting knocked down was the difference in rounds he was winning swinging close rounds back over to adamek by 2 points.

Who gives a **** what his score card was?

Its not like the fight was a robbery or anything...Hes just giving his opinion on a close fight that he was in, of course hes going to score more for himself.

Ask him how he scored Wlodarczyk - Cunningham I, cause that american judge with that 118 -109 score card for Steve was a disgrace to boxing.

This fight was very tough to score. Cunningham was outboxing Adamek and probably winning on the cards... until he hit the deck... again.. and again..

Three knockdowns can really kill your chances of winning a decision. You'd essentially have to win just about every round, other than the knockdown rounds, just to squeak out a 114-113 decision..

When you knock down your opponent, you'd typically score it 10-8. But in those rounds that Cunningham got knocked down, he was actually winning the round before he gets decked. So shouldn't it be 9-9 instead of 10-8 for Adamek. There's a huge difference between scoring a round 9-9 compared to 10-8 for your opponent.. that's a 2 point swing for each knockdown round.. and when you consider the fact that Cunningham was knocked down three times. That's probably why so many people had such widely different scorecards.

this is such a key thing in boxing

if the guy clearly winning the round gets knocked down is it 10-8 or is it 9-9? Most would say 10-8, I prefer 9-9 because the guy who was losing the round that scored the knockdown is still getting an extra point, however, if you were already losing the round it goes from 10-9 to 10-8 a one point switch, but if you were winning the round and you get knocked down it goes from 10-9 to 8-10 a three point switch,

what this essentially means that if you score a knock down in a round you are losing you get THREE points, if you score a knock down in a round you are winning you get ONE point

    it seems really dumb

Adamek won hands down. Close fight but it had a clear winner.

I want Cunningham to start shouting out his scores after each round right from his corner....

    "Steve whatchya got?"

    "10 - 9"

    "For who?"

    "Me!"

You're inventing your own scoring system. It's not possible to have a 9-9 round on the ten point must system (clue in the name) unless the referee has made a points deduction from the fighter than wins the round.
