If Cunningham was using his head as a weapon, and to target a cut that wasn't going to lead to a stoppage victory, he deserves to take the loss for suffering a colossal lapse in judgement.

Plus...

At least a couple of people screaming robbery on this thread gave Hernandez credit for winning the first two and the fourth, which gives him a one point edge due to the 10-8 rounds.

And...

USS might have been given an excessively long count in any event.

So...I'm fine with the result. At the very least, it guarantees Cunningham an immediate rematch.

 

Maybe........but Cunningham should think twice before accepting it in Germany.

Pretty much. Cunningham is a bit full of himself in the post interview, but outside of the Ross fight, he's had shitty luck in his career.

 

still a ridiculous stoppage. but, u could see hernandez was getting more and more tired probably from the head butts

 

It wasn't that the scorecards were awful, (though the guy who gave Cunningham one round...) It was that Cunningham had clearly taken control and there was no reason to stop the fight at that point. I want one person to tell me that that fight could not have continued there.

Reminds me of Khan-Barrera. Barrera has a butt cut that should clearly stop the fight. They wait till it hits the fourth round, then stop the fight. Hey, stop the fight if the cut calls for it, but not like this.

Well, the fight wasn't a robbery. The scorecards were way off, though. And Hernandez did quit, and he looked for a way out and was lucky Cunningham was using his head quite a bit.

Overall, I do think there was definitely shady stuff. The ref stopping it for no reason and the scorecards leads me to believe that this would have been a big robbery, but Cunningham shouldn't have been so dirty using his head.
