Huck finished himself It wasnt Steve's power that put him away.Infact i think Huck went out on his feet. But who is Huck anyway?I dare anybody to find me a top tier fighter A,B or even C level that has such **** poor technique as Huck.
It wasn't **** poor technique that had the Euro forum raving about Huck. It was his agression, power, and pressure style that did the trick. Looking back though it's hard not to laugh at the Huck nuthuggers that were claiming Huck was going to beat down Mormeck and Haye after he had mopped the ring with Cunningham. :yep
I remember before the USS vs Huck fight the majority opinion was "Huck is really bad, but he will probably win on points because Cunningham is also bad and the fight is in Germany." Now all of a sudden Huck was the next big thing
Adamek would have had him out of there within a few rounds. With Huck's poor footwork, squaring up,and hopeless punches he tries to fire from the Southpaw stance he was open to counters from RD1.The problem is that Steve lacks power and get's timid at times when under pressure.
And who was claiming this?Mostly Odo but he failed to tell us that Huck at times doesnt even look like a Boxer when he punches. His late start into Boxing shows.
Axe just said in a post above that Huck was the next big thing on ESB but Huck was never the next big thing on here
Indeed. Leading up to that one, I was shocked that so many people were dismissing Cunningham out of hand. I thought he would win that one.
check it out http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=984116&postcount=2 "Cunningham is a more talented boxer than Huck and should beat him on points if he's back to the form he had against Jones and Rothmann. That does not mean he will get the decision." http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=985315&postcount=5 "i can see huck winning a home town decision!" http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=985490&postcount=7 "Not overly impressed by Huck - too robotic and static for my liking - but can't see Cunningham getting a decision in Germany." http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=985627&postcount=8 "Huck has done nothing to prove he's any better than Guillermo Jones" Theres more. The majority of people were not impressed with Huck :smoke
More examples of people who did not rate Huck highly. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=935490&postcount=3 http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=935532&postcount=4 my opinion on Huck before the fight: Huck keep his guard tight and is very gunshy. Its easy to be the agressor against him but hard to land clean. Huck also has shitty accuracy but a very fast release, decent power and good fundamentals (double jab, follow the right hand with a left hook, etc.) Huck's counterpunching is absolutely HORRIBLE and what he often does is wait for his opponent to be catching his breath before launching his own attack. Credit to Cunningham, I thought he was even worse than Huck and I was wrong, but 1 average win does not make him the next great fighter.
thanks. Axe i have nothing personal against Cunningham. He could be a very very good fighter. What I'm arguing is that his accomplishments to date do not demonstrate it.
Well you know Axe, he is a promoter of any American fighter with skills and generally underrates all European fighters, even of equal skills, loves the pure boxer style generally, which Cunningham fits that bill. Huck was never the next big thing on here. But for Axe having a slick, pure boxer American to work with.... Huck's actually a poor representation of a euro pressure fighter, even Arslan is much better.
I pick Adamek also, by clear decision. The Wlodarzyk fights show plenty about Cunningham's level and I feel Adamek's a better fighter overall. Clear decision, 8-4, Adamek.
