Yea totally. That's why both got put on a Mayweather undercard.

If both sold great by themselves (which they don't) why would the promoter put them on the undercard?

Do you even know how much Alverez did in his last PPV fight?

 

Ideally what would sell well would be Martinez vs. other middleweights (unifying with Pirog and GGG), and the welterweights separately settling their business and leaving him alone...and vice versa.

As it is, in reality Martinez vs. Pirog/Golovkin could be an undercard bout for Mayweather/Pacquiao vs. *insert cherry-picked opponent* and hardly affect the bottom line. :verysad

I have watched every mayweather PPV fight.. Was it because I like floyd? Not really.. I just watch every PPV. When floyd fought hatton, I was rooting for hatton.

When floyd fought JMM, I was rooting for that tiny tiny man.

When floyd fought mosley, I was rooting for old man mosley.

Will I buy floyds next PPV? Nope, unless he fights Pac or Sergio. Im tired of his bull****! After he pulled that stunt and blatantly sucker punched his opponent to win the fight. That was too much, Elite fighters dont do that type of ****! It made me sick to my stomach, he's a diva that doesnt give a damn about boxing or the fans... I never said it was accidental. But you claim both are the only reasons why the PPV sold big. Yet want to ignore the fact that Alaverez has yet to do a PPV in the states over 100k and Morales-Maidana did less than 100K.

If it did less than a million I would be surprised and if it did 850k then fair enough its still a good number, juat not great.

I wouldnt worry about HBO not yet releasing the figures as they will its not like it's Bob Arum and Pacquiao vs Mosely! LOL

I said it for both Pacquiao-Mosley and Mayweather-Ortiz, if those fights did anywhere near 1 million, thats not a bad number.

As Mayweather-Ortiz official numbers have yet to be announced, neither has the Pac-Mosley numbers.
My guess is that both did just under a million buys.

The only people to speak about PPV numbers has been the promoters for these fights, yet neither Showtime or HBO made an official announcement.
