Most of you guys are well aware of the fact that I have been an unabashed Ward hater ever since he used nine headbutts to defeat Kessler. However, Kim was WAY out of line with that article. Between May of 2009, and December of 2011, Ward fought Miranda, Pudwill, Kessler, Green, Bika, Abraham, and Froch. Afterward, he took a break. If we consider the Dawson training camp, Ward's break was 7 or 8 months. Steve Kim needs to sit his ass down, and enjoy a big cup of SHUT THE **** UP!
Steve's a ****ing clown... its easy to talk **** about a boxer, a bit harder if you're in the ring with him... he complains Ward only fought once this year, did he forget the fact that he broke his ****ing hand in his last fight? He continues to bellyache the fact that he fights twice a year! Brilliance
dood, hate to revive the whole headbutt conspiracy... BUT he never has gotten a point deduction for headbutting IF you closely watch the points of contact and the fighters movement, you can see clearly that all of them were accidental (if you have it DVR'd, i do) There's one accidental headbutt that's actually mostly caused by Kessler's movement, as his head moves forward which causes a collision. There's one reckless movement by Ward (charging forward with head) which causes another one. The funny thing, in slow motion, you can see Kessler see it coming BUT does nothing to avoid contact! Regardless of the head contacts, Ward obviously would and will whip Kessler.
In the case of an accidental head butt the fighter gets two verbal warnings and then loses a point. If there is a another head butt, the fighter loses two points. A third means disqualification. In the case of an intentional butt, the referree takes two points. If it happens again, the ref disqualifies the fighter. Those are the rules! Ward should have been disiqualified. The fact that he could have won without the billy goat routine makes the situation worse, not better. The fact that Jack Riess admitted that he saw five of the nine headbutts makes it down right disgusting.
How do you know it was reckless and not purposeful? What you see in slow motion Kessler was supposed to avoid in real time? SERIOUSLY?
