Assuming you're not being sarcastic, you're either stupid or ignorant. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume ignorance. There's no reason to even quote what Mayweather says he's going to make. His figure is not a guarenteed number. If he were to make $40M, it would be because the PPV did extremely well. GBP is not stupid, they are not going to give him such a big percentage of the ppv where they don't end up getting properly compensated.

Also, do you know the figures on all the revenue streams? Do you know what the average ppv price is(HD will cost some $65)? Do you know how much of the ppv revenue they keep? Do you know how much they're getting from closed circuit sales? How about theatre ticket sales? What's the live gate figure? How much of the live gate will they be keeping? How much did they receive from the MGM as a site fee? What's the liscensing fee that HBO will be paying them to rebroadcast the fight? How much sponsorship money will they receive? How much merchandising money? How much international money? Let's not even get into the expenses.

The fact of the matter is, you know very little about how much money is actually going to be made on this fight. With that being said, your comments are either extremely stupid, or steeped in ignorance.

    1. $
    2. they don't live in Vegas
    3. They know Floyds gonna kick the guys ass

When he fights Pac, they'll fill up Dallas stadium because people believe that Pac has the best chance to beat Floyd

I believe you've made a mistake. The word you're looking for is "sponsorship." Don't you just hate it when someone takes your otherwise-legitimate post and nitpicks spelling and/or grammar inconsistencies?

I honestly don't care. I'm glad you pointed it out. It's fixed now.

Of course we don't know those details, we're only fans and we form our opinions mostly on what we read or heard from the media.

Mine is only the general calculation if the fight makes 1.5M ppv buys and I think 1.5M buys doesn't generate much profit to the fight promoters mainly because I think Floyd is overpaid.

You're still not getting it. Do you know what overpaid means? Overpaid means, in this case, that your compenstion is dissproportionate to the revenue that you're generating. How can you say Mayweather is ovepaid if you don't know how much he's getting paid and you don't know how much money this fight will make? I want you to really think about this before you answer.

I thought that whatever comes out of Mayweather's mouth is the Gospel?

So you don't believe the 60 million dollars?

Well I think you can deduce from my previous postings that when I've said overpaid, it's tied to performance. So many peeps were dissatisfied, bored, feeling robbed with Floyd's past performances with all those potshotting and running. They feel Floyd can do more but contend himself to cruise to a decision victory. Floyd is under-performing and still getting this kind of huge purse. He's overpaid to me.

They'll probably dump a bunch of tickets in time for the main event. It will be hard to convince the public that the fight was a ppv success when the crowd is less than average.

I just looked up tickets, still plenty available.

Weird, I would think this would for sure sell out, but with the media giving Mosley no chance, it's not exactly inviting to the casual fan who hates mayweather.

They need to believe Mosley stands a real chance(which he does) so this is looking like a mismatch.

His "performance" in this sense has nothing to do with how the fight goes, it has to do with how the fight sells. And Mayweather sells a LOT. People may hate him, or be disappointed, or whatever, but his fights keep selling very well, and everyone involved keeps making money, so he's performing perfectly fine from a financial standpoint.

Floyd's last 2 fights have sold less combined than pacquiao's last 2 fights.

He is not this mega draw every one is making him out to be. He was just involved in a super fight with Oscar and people thought of it as Oscar shutting up a punk. It didn't happen and then he fought 2 small guys and there was little interest.

This 3 million buys expectations is absolutely ludicrous. No ****ing way it breaks 2.

so am I correct in thinking that Floyd is the kind of fighter who sells PPV well but doesn't sell venue tickets well? seems like that's the trend... a strange trend at that
