Steve had a pretty good run at a Casino north of Toronto for about a year.He certainly isn't wealthy but he should be OK,providing he can be used as a "name" opponent by Top Rank.He will never win another title but can be used as an opponent type to an up and comer.:good

Pity for Steve, and a good win for Ndlovu. Ndlovu is probably one of the weaker titlists around, he should be the target for any up and coming contender.

I read that his first management contract took a big part of his earnings, and then he still had to pay a second manager down the line.

I remember Hugo Dianzo saying Molitor was better than Ayala and Juanma Lopez but it looks like the guy doesn't have it in him anymore.

Depends on what you consider accomplishing alot. In the grand scheme of things, being able to feast on C level competition is alot better than most people who lace them up can do. He was never any kind of elite or P4P talent or anything, but I certainly wouldn't call his career a disappointment unless we're talking about the highest levels only.

He seemed really depressed judging from an interview he had a fight or two ago. His mind and heart aren't in the sport any more, and when that happens it's time to hang 'em up before the beatings just get worse.

Well he almost got outbrawled by the tiny booth.

That being said he should have won easily tonight.

Molitor's done. Still a good test for up an comers though but I doubt he'll pick up another strap. He'll still be able to outbox and upset a prospect or 2 but sadly I see him as stepping stone status from here on until he retires. All in all he did what he could with his abilities and should be proud. 2 time world champion, I think 5-6 defenses the first time and 2 the second time. Took his first title in hostile territory and defended his 2nd in hostile territory, classy guy and a very good fighter when all's said and done he accomplished more than most fighters.

I'm not suprised. He was very inactive inside the ring even during the second fight.

Maybe it's time to hang 'em up.

Yeh I had a feeling he would have his work cut out as he is not a KO artist and he'd maybe have little chance getting the decision in Africa. It also seemed a bit out of the ordinary for him to actually travel to fight someone he already beat twice pointing to the possibility he was just going for the pay day.

Nah I had a feeling this was coming. Steve looked like he had a problem getting started against Jason booth. He's been looking like he's been slowing down a bit in his last couple of fights. Also you always worry when a guy faces another man he's already faced a couple of times. Everytime you face a guy you get better and better at figuring him out. That always favours the guys whose been losing as he's the one with more to learn about his opponent. When this fight got moved to south africa I figured the jig was up for Steve. I'm pissed at Top Rank letting this guy get jobbed like this he deserved better.

This is the exact example that came to mind for me as well. Its never a good thing when a declining fighter has to face a guy he's faced many times before.
