Steve Smoger was poor tonight!

    He used to be one of my faves but after his ref performance in the Mayfield-Dulorme fight tonight i think he should consider retiring.

    He allowed Dulorme to hug after every punch he threw and didn't take points off plus he did nothing after the low blows.

    This is boxing, not wrestling!

    he was embarrassing regardless of the 2 low blows. Delorme bear hugged him all night and smoger didn't give a ****. what pissed me off the most is how delorme would hold for another 5 seconds after smoger tried to break them.

    Agreed.

    I was shouting at Smoger to do something about all the hugging and holding Dorlorme was doing.

    Everytime Mayfield landed something big, Dorlorme would hug the **** out of him and Smoger did NOTHING!.

    Smoger and Dorlorme were both terribble tonight, never want to see Dorlorme on television again!

    This is BOXING, not fecking wrestling.

    What the hell is the point of a Ref being in the ring if he dosen't give a feck about enforcing rules.

    I would ban all hugging or wrestling if i could make one rule change in Boxing, would make the sport so much better to watch.

    Smoger is a touchy feely guy. I think he sees himself being hugged by Dulorme and got lost in the moments.

    Tonight was certainly not a prime night for Smoger. Haven't scouted his fights lately to see if it's a trend, but let's hope he turns it around regardless. We don't need any more refs pulling a Cortez and letting their public image get in the way of doing their job right.

    I haven't scouted his fights either, but I think it's becoming a trend because of the Hopkins-Murat fight.

    You can clearly see he favors certain boxers.
    He was all smiles with Dulorme after the fight ended.

    I agree he could have been more proactive in that fight.....that said, it's never been his style.....so love him or hate him....he aint changing for no one.:huh
