i admired steve collins, real tough guy with loads of energy, as said only lost 3 fights and 2 of those were against real high class opposition and reggie johnson wasnt bad either.
he would have given calzaghe a hard time if the fight had happened!!!!

Collins spent much of his latter career chasing a fight with roy jones, now theres a fight id like to have seen. Apparently roy said he'd fight him if steve beat the young calzaghe first, but according to steve there was no reason he should be fighting someone who "couldnt fill a parish hall".

if people try to credit joe calzaghe's resume with the eubank win then you sure as hell do the collins wins, eubank didn't let collins of the hook in the first fight, far from it in my opinion, both great fighters although steve may not have been the most technically gifted in the world he had the heart and courage of a warrior,he would have gave any mw-smw of the last generation a real good fight!

whoever posted about barry being in the hof and collins not,we know that barry was much more than a boxer,he was a symbol in a very troubled time and for that he deserves so much!

It depends on the fighter. Eubank retired when he was 31 because he was done. Tyson was finished in his early 20s. Naseem was done at 27. Hopkins was in his prime in his mid 30, Lewis was prime in his 30s as well.
