I just realized that when So Cold said in the comments of that post on FaceBook that his team would be streaming his fight at 10, he probably meant 10pm local time in Omaha, which is an hour behind EST. So a little over an hour.

To be fair they're doing it as part of some kind of citywide festival ...but yes technically it will be taking place in a parking lot.

 

Nelson - who is actually just four years the longtime veteran Findley's junior at 31 years old, no spring chicken despite the 14-0 record - is looking to become the second breakout star from not just the state of Nebraska but also the B&B gym, which also produced his childhood best friend Terence "Bud" Crawford.

 

Well past ten local time in Omaha ..

I'm going to guess that if Soriano just fought about half an hour ago, that means there's a good chance that Lawrence Newton vs. Daniel Lozano is currently playing out in the co-main. So yeah, I guess stay tuned into Nelson's page on Facebook, or B&B's on Instagram.

Steven Nelson vs. Derrick Findley, 10 rounds @ super middleweight

 

Round 1

Nelson is popping a quick jab at the head, making Findley duck and perform a full rolling turn inside with the lead right downstairs. Nelson is scooting backward off the ball of his lead foot at diagonals to stay offline from the Findley body shots and continues testing him with the jabs up top. Findley puts up a turtle shell and tries jabbing with him, but Nelson's is quicker and sturdier and Findley abandons that plan in favor of hurried steps leftward and body shots once more. Nelson sizing Findley up while rotating and casually lobbing out lead right uppercuts from a Philly shell while twisting away clockwise. Nice uppercuts by Nelson catching Findley as he ducks in with his face lowered. Findley plants his feet and points his knees outward, squaring up to snip the rope on a deadly left hook downstairs. It lands but Nelson just keeps walking forward, only slowed for an instant, and dribbles a hard combination off the head, buzzing Findley slightly.

Anyway...

Nelson is pumping out lead rights between Findley's eyes jumping in. Findley crouches and swivels his guard around, elbows floating just above the anterior of either side's patella. Nelson is swarming Findley and making him duck or raise his gloves with hard-thrust jabs in the face, then pivoting and thumping his sides with uppercuts, then cracking him above his ears with drubbing blows from up by his own jaw. Findley is weaving through everything and digging in hard with counter body shots but can't shake Nelson. Findley is battered into the ropes numerous times but keeps getting low and squirming his way in through Nelson's power salvos to either clinch or buck off him and bounce away, skating along the ropes with his knees bent deeply to keep him under the strike zone and give him torque for his occasional ambush counters. Nelson quick to close the gap and wail on him some more.

Round 3

Findley is holding out his right glove and leaving it stiffly hung out to dry, pushing into some of Nelson's shots with it to spoil his rhythm. Nelson is dancing in and out, faking with the left, then additionally feinting the right hand down the pipe in midair while leaping inside, and settling on a hard left hook under Findley's elbows. Nelson is leading with hooks downstairs now, then looping rights up into the corner of Findley's left eye. Nelson is brushing the hairline with a series of light jabs even as Findley bends over and shows a bit of slickness in maneuvering his skull around them. Findley battling him off gallantly with his own hooks on the body, although Nelson's are the more damaging by far. Nelson is playfully moving in & out, throwing a single jab or lead right and gauging Findley's reaction. Big rally by Findley, but Nelson stunts his progress with some uppercuts & overhands at mid-range, bombarding Findley on the ropes for a minute but then, like a cat bored with its prey, letting him off and stepping clear to give him a head start. Findley is sawing his upper body in toward Nelson, bobbing his shoulders & head beneath the onslaught. Findley is getting in some licks on the body and yet nothing he does is slowing Nelson down or buying him any breathing room. Findley getting whipped around the ring with power combos, dazed even when shelling up.
