Martial arts is great with a compliant opponent. 2.35 of the first video, I see where the Matrix producers got the idea of Neo facing multiple Agent Smiths.
Actually Aikido is very effective when an opponent is lunging in on you, and that's the reason why he's manipulating them so easily because he's redirecting there energy and that has to do with physics, not compliance. But techinque is the most important thing because without that, than nothing is gonna work, doesn't matter what style it is.
It's effective on average joes. The principles are applicable in all martial arts and redirection of danger/energy is incredibly effective. The techniques are certainly fantastical in application. The simpler moves could work though and I would like to see them applied.
Nope, sorry, it'll work on any joe if you apply it right. And no, i'm not saying you can anybody with just aikido.
Seagall should enter some of those hot dog eating competitions. looks like he could down quite a few wiennies.
I just really wanna see this in a real world application. I don't even care if it works. I just wanna see it.
LMFAO! Are you KIDDING me? This **** is absolutely ridiculous. I am sure Aikido has some practical applications and I am sure that Steven Seagal could whoop ass on some untrained punk but that first video truly made me laugh. How hard would it really be in that first video to just PUNCH HIM IN THE ****ING FACE. Like, seriously, it is beyond ridiculous how compliant they are. I know it is just a demonstration, but who attacks in a fight with primarily bad hip checks?
You aint seen nothing yet, Ive seen Chi so strong that a mere motion of hands without the slightest touch can sent you flying through the wall.
You are wrong. It's incredibly hard to to make JKD and Aikido work in MMA. Elements will work. A complete fighting style in a mould comparable to boxing, muay thai, wrestling and jits then no.
Must be one hell of a burden being wiser and more knowledgeable about martial arts than all these dum saps that have being studying Aikido for hundreds of years. Im learning so much here, do go on.
