What a puss.... all this talk and he still won't take the shot. Biggest most blatant duck of the year
Chris Mannix ‏@ChrisMannixSI 34m Hearing that K2's offer to Main Events for @Showtime_Curtis-GGG was around $300,000. Also hearing that's not going to get it done.
If this is going to be GGG's coming out party, and a headliner, then 300K really isn't that much. Maybe they should give a counter offer so we can see if he's really outpricing himself.
I think that's a little more than Rosado took, where Macklin made $350,000. That's still a career high payday for Stevens. Not bad for someone who probably should've lost an 8 round decision to Derrick Findley and biggest wins are KO's over Elvin Ayala and Saul Roman.
Ok then. Then that's a solid and sensible business decision by main events. 300K for all of main events to end there $$ revenue train in curtis stevens when he gets splattered by GGG? Bad move for a lousy 300K. Stevens just headlined on a major network channel. He probably made that much fighting a harmless crude mexican journeyman. Why would he fight the baddest man in boxing for that too? Glad they turned it down as well. I'm not interested in GGG taking a backward step, and going from proksa and macklin to stevens is a huge step backwards. Curtis is just black, from brooklyn, and can punch out cans. He's not a world class guy. GGG is elite.
Correct myself, Rosado made $200,000 and Macklin made $300,000. **fighthype.com/news/article14869.html **boxingnews24.com/2013/06/purses-for-saturday-golovkin-350k-macklin-300k-oosthuizen-30k-gonzalez-50k/ Stevens offers is right in line given his minimal accomplishments.
