Th reason he went up in the first place was because he wasn't skilled nor fast enough to compete with lower weight fighters.
Stevens just isn't that good. He has been overly hyped recently to try and prop Golovkins star up, due to Golovkins weak resume. Stevens hasn't been whooping top ten guys. As a matter of fact it seems like he always loses against his best opponents. Sometimes losing to mediocre opponents. If he can make 154 I would go for it. He still can't cut the ring off, but maybe if he keeps his punch, the guys will be more susceptible to it.
I thought Stevens could have stopped Ndam in the first rd if really stepped on the gas. As it were it was a half-hearted fight plan.
The guy has to eat/drink only juice shakes for the last week before a fight just to make 160, hes not making 154.
More like he was never really that good. Hes exciting against a certain level of fighter, but hes still the same guy who got schooled by Jessie Brinkley
