Stevenson Adonis in critical condition. in hospital

It's a rather difficult topic. Is there no redemption at all? And if there is, where is the line drawn?
IMO this forum is not the place to discuss it at all.

If one thinks Stevenson is a piece of **** for his past, then feel free to state that. But there is no point in going on a morality crusade here. It goes nowhere.

I don't like Stevenson and it actually made my heart warm seeing karma bite him in the ass. But I am also happy that he seems to be doing fine and I am hoping that he recovers. Why? Because he is a boxer. I don't want any boxers to get hurt.

 

It could equally be said, have you no empathy? I'm sure Adonis has family members who would be deeply affected by his passing, some of whom may have forgiven him for his past actions, some of whom may have not. How are any of his victims "helped" by his death? Is his death really a means for them to move on from whatever pain they've suffered?

 

Too much empathy or misplaced empathy can be a fault too. We have a lot of moral relativism and failure to judge. We have as much of an obligation to condemn evil as to praise good. Something is gravely wrong with an individual who won't even condemn ****, or who even idolizes the ******.

 

I think Stevenson is a scumbag and my first thought on hearing his condition was "perhaps there is a god". However, that doesn't mean that I have to abide by that thought, as much as I may think it. We can't go around picking and choosing who we **** on when they're injured in a sport such as this, because it's threatened by outside forces that would see it finished. We need to present a unified front of respect for the fallen or else we just seem to be endorsing the senselessness of violence that so many critics of the sport claim is at its heart.

 

All these people downplaying Stevenson's crimes are the types who wish they could legally kill people for cutting them off in traffic or voting for a different football team.

 

thats the problem right there. boxing is just a frickin sport, as much as you would like to make super heros out of these guys, its just entertainment. justice is a necessity, and shouldnt get shelved to protect your enetertainment. get your priorities straight.

 

I've just watched an interview with Gvozdyk (it's by a Ukrainian youtube boxing channel, not in English) and this is what Gvozdyk said when asked about Stevenson's condition:

That's really terrible. I hope he will get better soon. I don't know what happened with him, because I saw him like 20 minutes after the fight, and he looked OK, for a man sitting on a stretcher, that is.
God willing, I really hope everything will be good with him.
..."

 

Anyone mentioning a crime for a guy who has just ended up in critical condition, is hardly "downplaying" them, just by the sheer timing of when they raised the issue.

You are up-playing them and you know it. Just because people dont mention his crimes in every post they make, it doesnt mean they are automatically condoning them - this might be difficult for you to grasp.

 

the vast majority of people do not actually overtly help anyone in their careers, outside their immediate family usually. Is the whole world "not living a good life" too if they arent running a school?
