I mean what he rehydrates to after the weigh in though. Bika was a big, strong looking SMW I can't imagine he was coming in that light. Bika is strong like the oxen and he has a very good chin. He can bang too and his wild caveman swings are dangerous. That said, he has been hurt and floored numerous times before (and by much lesser punchers than Stevenson) and he's past his best and his punch resistance faded, IMO.
Dont get me wrong I like the guy as he can always upset the apple cart. I just heard even coach Ronnie Shields is worried he will not last past 6 or 7 due to the brutal career he has had over the years. This will not be a sleeper as I see Bika going dirty on the inside early and perhaps landing crazy shots, front and back:hey, but the size and power of AD should end this one early:dead
Think Stevenson wins too, but I dont really think size is the issue here. Stevenson fought at 168 most of his career, and Bika always seemed like a powerful looking 168. Think Bika toughs it out, makes it dirty and rough and sees out the 12 rounds, and loses a UD after being dropped a couple of times
He has a puncher's chance, IMO, but other than that I can't see him winning. The worst thing about this match up for him, in addition to him being faded by the wear and tear of a long hard career, is how easy he is to hit. No one has a problem finding that big noggin of his and Stevenson won't either. Bika has been dropped by Coddrigton and Dirrell, hurt by Donny McCrary, wobbled a bit by Calzaghe and he was also rocked and hurt by Dirrell on numerous other occasions in their two fights too, IIRC. Like I said, none of them hit anywhere near as hard as Stevenson and that was a prime Bika, sans against Dirrell. I think he was also hurt against Periban too, not sure about that though. Stevenson via stoppage, probably sometime between the 6th and 8th but I would be too surprised if he went earlier either.
I was wrong. Stevenson somehow couldn't stop a sliding journeyman that was brought up for his first light heavyweight fight to make him look good.
Not sure about that..you also gave Bika more of a chance to foil Stevenson when he was completely overmatched as the KO predicters did correctly note. "Bika's off kilter style is exactly the kind of style that could foil Stevenson."
Not sure how Stevenson didn't KO Bika. Bika is there to be hit, his defense sucks. Yet Stevenson was missing a bit with the left. If he was more accurate with it, Bika would have been KO'd.
An argument could be made that Bute did. Bute didn't score knockdowns but I had a hard time giving Bika a round against him. Bute made it look easy. The Calzaghe fight was 10 years ago. Ancient history. The Ward fight was 5 years ago. Near Ancient history. None of these men really struggled with him despite lacking big time power and size advantages. Anthony Dirrell struggling against Bika speaks volumes about how far he still has to go. Stevenson is supposed to be a top notch LHW puncher, failing to stop a SMW journeyman and even losing a few rounds just isn't impressive. Especially when his rival just became the first man to stop Pascal.
Pretty bad scorecards for this one. Who'd have thought Adonis would have dropped him and Bika still would have seen the distance, with only two/three rounds won?
Calzaghe and Ward struggled badly. But that was a better version I think, Adonis has slipped but Bika has aswell I think.
