When has ANYBODY ducked Bute, when he was the one hiding in Montreal his whole career and ducked the S6. When has Bute EVER had a highlight reel KO? Only highlight reel I recall him making was when Andrade and Froch KO'd him. You're a fool.
That's why I was picking Porter to beat Brook based on his performance against Carson Jones....oh wait, I didn't, that was you. Suppose you think I'm also picking undefeated Algieri over Pacquiao because he got beat my Torrencampo, or Pulev over Wlad because he lost to Sanders? Nope, check when I have ever rated Stevenson, I know he's not that good from watching him with my own eyes. I know in front of a live body, who can take a shot and is not intimidated by Stevenson's power, 'Superman' forgets that he's slick (like for example Broner forget's he uses the shoulder roll) and he begins to come apart. He's only a one armed bandit and a quite a few guys would expose his flaws. Had he not moved to Light Heavyweight and took his mandatory shot against Froch, I genuinely believe he would've have done much better than Yusaf Mack. I also believe GGG could hop over the 168 division and easily take him apart.
Well Adonis gave Darnell Boone a highlight reel KO, and Fonfara almost had one, I don't know if you've notice but Bute and Adonis both have shitty chins, Bute has as good a chance as anyone. *******:fy
:good The Bute that walked into that fight with Froch would've decimated Stevenson. Can he do it after his soul was pummeled out of his body by The Cobra? Not impossible.
Froch fought him immediatley before Bute and didn't decimate him either. Johnson is, or back then was, made of sterner stuff than Stevenson is now. Stevenson is made almost completely of glass.
A crap fight indeed. Can't see Bute standing up to anyone who can punch. But then again, I can't Stevenson either.
Bute KO Miranda via body shot seconds after Miranda taunted him, daring him to hit him with a body shot. That was a highlight reel KO.
You are correct in saying Glen of a few years ago was more durable than Stevenson. But in saying that, you must also admit that Stevenson is equally incomparably better than Glen of a few years ago in nearly every possible offensive measurable. Glen of those fights was pretty much a high guarder who relied on his wits and fighting in spots to land on the inside. Of course he wasn't going to do that against Bute and Froch; bigger, younger, stronger, faster... But against Yusaf Mack and Allan Green, relative mental midgets, Glen was able to find success. Glen did a lot better against Froch than he did against Bute. Yet Froch was clearly the better fighter... What does it mean? Styles make fights. Bute will be there and then some to be hit. He is too passive defensively and always has been. The moment he stopped fighting very limited pressure fighters or mediocre standup boxers he became recognized by those previously in denial as extremely limited himself... Now ask yourself when was the last time that Bute ever stepped forward into an exchange with any confidence? With any success? I think maybe you guys are either giving Bute too much credit or taking too much away from Stevenson if you genuinely think that Bute would win this fight. Stevenson gets dropped by Fonfara, then gets up and seals a clear decision victory, and all of a sudden he didn't just consecutively stop Dawson-Cloud-Bellew right before that. Now, would Bute of today be able to beat Dawson, Cloud, or Bellew... those are more debatable questions. There should be a clear favorite if Stevenson/Bute gets made next, is all I'm saying. It should be Stevenson.
It was a head shot. 1:26 mark [YT]c3zdQrzaFIk[/YT] These were certainly highlight reel finishes too. 2:40 [YT]zbsEu7Hk70c[/YT] 2:09 [YT]Hwf8IK5iiB0[/YT] 1:13 [YT]EIDOIrfnJP0[/YT]
Quite a large percentage of Bute's stoppages were of the highlight reel variety. He was a fearsome body puncher at 168 and he produced his fair share of one-punch finishes with that big left hand counter to the midriff of his. This should've been another one-punch finish to add to his highlight reel. Zuniga was down for about 14 seconds. Look at the expression of sheer agony etched across his face. Zuniga was a seriously hard ******* as well. It was the only legitimate stoppage loss of his career (he lost to Pavlik on a cut eye, only after having given him a real torrid time and dropping him on his ass) despite him facing a slew of quality fighters and big punchers: Prime Pavlik, Tavoris Cloud, Alejandro Berrio, James Degale, Denis Inkin, Thomas Oosthuizen, Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam among others. 6:09 mark [YT]0HpdvWMWCGc[/YT]
You sure that was a body shot? Looked like an uppercut that damn near twisted Miranda's head around backwards. *edit: My bad, I posted before I scrolled down and seen the video posted.
