This fight has been a clusterfu*k from the get go. Toronto isn't a fight town for boxing and hasn't been for 30+ years. Last time Stevenson fought in Toronto it was against no hoper Karpency. They held it at 9,000 capacity Ricoh Centre and it tanked hard with only around 3,000 in the crowd, I know because I was there.

Stevenson-Jack is going to tank badly as well. Most people here have never heard of these two guys only the hardcores will show up. With short notice to promote this thing you'll end up with a few thousand in attendance. They'll be lucky to get 5,000.

All those French fighters out of Quebec fight on PPV in Canada and nobody in English Canada buys them. None of Stevenson, Pascal, Bute, Alvarez, Lemieux's fights have ever been on free tv, EVER. Not even HBO Canada or Superchannel (they carry Showtime fights in Canada). They all automatically end up on PPV in Canada and nobody outside French Canada buys these fights, nobody.

All Canadian fighters from Quebec fight exclusively on PPV in Canada and it's at $60-$70 a pop not matter who they fight, even bums. Very few buys come from English Canada because they never build these fighters on free tv, it's all PPV all the time.

This card won't sell any tickets in Toronto because they are doing it all ****in' wrong which doesn't surprise me one bit. Yvon Michel used to be a smart, level headed guy. I think being around Al Haymon and Adonis Stevenson has made him lose his damn mind.

He's going to lose his ****in' shirt on this fight.

Yvon Michel will make money no doubt.
Al Haymon is gonna lose money but its not his so he doesnt care.
Michel wanted this fight in Montreal, not because Steveson sells a lot of tickets, cuz he doesnt, but because he wanted to showcase M'Bili and Oscar Rivas to a wider audience.
The man who decides everything had other plans

Michel wanted this fight in Montreal. He reserved the Bell Centre for May 19th. But he doesnt call the shots since 4 years ago when he let Al Haymon in.

I read a piece in last Saturday's newspaper and the writer who is close to Michel called that moment 4 years ago ' the kiss of death' . He said point blank that Michel nowdays is only a ' marionette '

GYM rival promoter Eye of the Tiger, who has Lemieux, grew bigger and bigger in this interval, sporting a huge stable of young talent and none of them are allowed to sign with Haymon

Stevenson was going to get booed big time, in front of 1,000 people. In an Quebec article, they are hoping Michel is not loosing to much money on this one, not making them go bankrupt. After me, the flood. Stevenson only allegence is money, everything else can go down, even people that made him, as long as he has money. It is what it seems anyway to me.

Which one has Haymon Boxing Insurance? Stvenson should knock Jack out, but one thing is for sure, Kovalev, Bivol, Gvozdyk, Beterbiev would knock both fighters out easily!!! Why does Stevenson never have to fight a mandatory?

If there is any justice in this world Jack will catch Stevenson with a ****ing powerbomb 3 seconds into round one and finish this guy off. He's been holding the title hostage fighting BUMS forever. Sick of this character.

    Auto-translated:

    Stevenson won!
Toronto already has the Blue Jays, the Maple Leafs, the Raptors, the Argos and Toronto FC, Toronto is winning ... Adonis Stevenson!

In fact, Adonis Stevenson won his showdown. He eventually forced Al Haymon and Showtime to abandon Yvon Michel and Montreal and to relocate his championship fight against Badou Jack in Toronto.

The fatal phone call was received on Friday at dinner time. It was no longer possible to present the fight of May 19 in Montreal and the Teleroman District 31 was going to continue in Toronto. And Yvon Michel was asked to help PBC and Floyd Maywheater negotiate agreements in Toronto. Michel was so flabbergasted that he asked for an hour and ended the conversation abruptly.

In the night he wrote the list of his conditions and sent it to Haymon. Saturday afternoon, Oscar Rivas and the other boxers planned for the Bell Center were going to fight in Toronto and Michel settled on the phone to start negotiations.

"I had no choice. I have two young children and a company to save. It is finally PBC who will take the risks and I will receive a stamp to raise the gala, "he explained, still shaken yesterday morning.

    AVOID CATASTROPHE

In the background, Yvon Michel and PBC have avoided a certain disaster. The failure of the promotion, launched under astonishing conditions, in the current anti-Stevenson climate, this failure was guaranteed. In Toronto, with promoter Lee Baxter who agreed to postpone a gala he held in Niagara Falls on May 19 and especially with the all-powerful Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment to sell under pressure the rich tables on the floor and the seats at golden prices in the ringside , chances are to pay for it.

And then, Toronto is more in the Floyd Mayweather circuit where he will waddle for cameras and fans.

As for Yvon Michel, even if the blow is hard to swallow for his ego since he spends even more for the puppet of Al Haymon in all this unlikely story, it's a stroke of luck. Instead of losing what's left of his company in a losing adventure, he'll be able to work with a parachute and safely. It's easier to make bills than checks.

    FIND YOUR FREEDOM

Yvon Michel swore to relatives that he would never find himself in this situation again. I think the time has come for him to regain his freedom ... if it's possible. By joining the clan of Al Haymon, he has denied 25 years of friendship and contacts in the world of boxing. We saw it with Kathy Duva last week, it is still possible to renew these links.

Anyway, the coup of strength of Al Haymon to take control of boxing in North America is missed and Yvon Michel has the chance to regain his autonomy ...

    GEOFF MOLSON AND MARC BERGEVIN

How can Marc Bergevin contradict his boss Geoff Molson in front of everyone's audience? Especially since Molson did not say anything so shocking. On the contrary, he was quite serene and calm when he said that he had slept badly for several months before the PK Subban exchange. He had given his blessing for a transaction ... if a good opportunity arose. She introduced herself with the call of David Poile. Do you think Poile got up one morning and said, "Well, I'm going to call my boyfriend Bergevin, all of a sudden he wants to exchange Subban? "

The handle is on the top of the suitcase ...

So essentially Yvon has become the Canadian Dibella.. It’s sad seeing this happen because the article says it was Haymon and Stevenson’s decision.. Yvon has pretty much become a puppet and it’s good reason that Beterbiev want to get away from this mess.. I even think Yvon has been wanting Stevenson to lose to Beterbiev for some time now but Adonis didn’t want to fight a live body and he can’t generate the money his contract demands.. I mean even the Alvarez situation is shaky Stevenson and Haymon has been a huge headache for Yvon..

I don't care where they have this fight, as long as they bring the French-Canadian dancing round card girls with them.

    Yes thats exactly it !

I'm have been saying this for a couple of years now. Michel cried for his independence more than a year ago at the Bute vs Alvarez press conference. Michel was angry at Haymon because he put that show on a friday and then gave no tv deal. Haymon never wanted Alvarez to fight Stevenson but according to some people who read their stuff on twitter and act like they know ish it was Michel who was blocking this fight lool, when in fact he tried to make that fight last December but Adonis continued to duck his mandatory. Alvarez never received step aside money, what he got was the most lucrative deals of his career, dangerous fights with the biggest names and ticket sellers in Canada, Lucian Bute and Jean Pascal. That was his reward for steping aside.
