Stevenson/Kovalev: 75-25 split in favor of Stevenson

    Kovalev is now mandatory for Stevenson's WBC belt. GYM (Stevenson's promotor) asked the WBC to go to a bid soon (within 30 days).

    Since Kovalev is the mandatory, and since it would be a fight imposed by the WBC to Stevenson, the WBC rules are, if I am right and I think I am, that the champion's camp get 75% of the purse, and the mandatory's, 25%.

    Pretty sneaky from GYM's part. Now, if Kovalev refuses those terms that make him the "B" side, Stevenson can tell everyone he was ducked by Kovalev, Kovalev who also will have miss his chance to force Stevenson to fight him...

    Yvon Michel nailed Kathy Duva on that one.

    Kova is used to this, once he makes Stevenson his hoe, he will have the 75-25 split in his favour

    nah, the fight will also be for the other belts held by Kovalev, they'll never accept such a split.

    That split is insane considering Kovalev clearly has the better wins and resume.

    If he refuses to go to the bid, then Stevenson can call him a duck and wouldn't have to fight him anymore since Kovalev wouldn't be his mandatory anymore.:deal

    I assure you, Stevenson won't fight Kovalev if he doesn't have to. He will be more then happy.:deal:deal

    So basically if that fight happens, it will be 75-25 in Stevenson's favor.

    If Stevenson demands that kind of split, the fight will not be made, simple as that. Kovalev is as far as I know Duvas "biggest" boxer and she won't let GYM rob her like that. It simply will not happen.

    The it won't, Stevenson will be retired in 2 years or so, Kovalev can afford to wait a bit for his chance.

    Well if it's true (about the 75%|25%), this whole thing from Yvon Michel and Al Haymon is starting to make sense now.

    The Kovalev haters will try and justify this nonsense... Watch. Kovalev doesn't care, he just wants to knock the pimp out and unify the division. Long term champion status> one big payday. :deal

    No way that's how it's going to be. This is a special case where it could split 50/50, otherwise there won't be a fight.

    Kovalev is the A-side now and he's also have 3 belts. Stevenson's last fight drew flies (less the 400k), while Kovalev's last fight drew well over a million.
