No, but according to the Ring, they can make the winner of his upcoming rematch with Pascal the champion.
No he isn't. First Ring isn't always lineal, and second it's vacant. Kova is the #1, and pimp the #2, so they'd have to fight eachother for it. (or #1 and #3)
Beterbiev and Haymon Parters are about to steal every single belt without having to fight Ward or Kovalev.
Transitional rankings, and IWBR (computer based) are the only ones I really trust ATM. This content is protected
Signing with haymon male you fall out of favour with the ring. Eg Stevenson, frampton suddenly dropping below quigg when he signed with haymon
atsch Of course. This is correct. BUT! being that Hopkins is 3 and Pascal is 4.......what are the odds they move Pascal up in the mean?:think
They don't even have to move Pascal up per the stupid rules they instituted a few years ago. Boy that sure makes this dumb rematch enticing now though! The Ring belt has no bearing on who is or is not the lineal champion.
Then how do you determine the top 2 contenders when lineal championships is vacant? #1 vs #2 by Ring? :smoke
Well it could be #1 vs #4 according to The Ring's own skewed policies as well. Hell they put their belt on the line for Mayweather-Guerrero. Surely you don't think that fight should have created a lineage, right? The TBRB rankings are the only ones trustworthy and also their champions are far more likely to conform to consensus lineal champions.
The problem with lineage is when it becomes vacant. A boxer retires or moves division. Rarely will the world agree who was 2nd and 3rd. Hence it gets skewed. www.premierboxingorganisation.com
