Nobody ever wants to jump the gun on someone, but two dominating stoppage wins over two different top 10 opponents of different styles is worth discussing. Especially when in a growing division that's going to heat up. He has Bellew next, I can't see Bellew winning that and then the big talk is an all Quebec show down between he and Pascal. I also can't see Pascal winning on what we've seen from both. If that's how it all unfolds, then that would be 4 victories over top 10 opposition. A guy that came out of nowhere would be sitting fairly nice at that juncture. Yet, there doesn't seem to be much positive interest in him outside of Canada. Plenty of threads on the failure that is Amir Khan though.:nut
I agree. After the fight on Saturday, I was looking forward to see a lot of talk on here about him. I just found out about him. Dude's a super G. Reminds me of Muhammad Ali.
The guy certainly has been impressive in the ring the last few times out. The guy has a sordid history. He is well known enough, just doesn't have a lot of fans because of what Mr. Magic said. (see above). Kinda hard to find an excuse to root for a guy like that.
I've been talking him up since saturday night and had some brits tell me there is nothing special about him, and that bellew has a chance
I don't give a **** how good he is in the ring I can't root for someone like Stevenson because of his past, a scumbag.
Why don't youcheck out the bellew vs stevenson thread for yourself dummy, as that is exactly what some fans of bellew were saying in there.
I think Stevenson has the goods to have some staying power at 175. I like watching him fight he has underrated boxing ability and is exciting to watch. More people should be talking about him.
And the next time he loses/looks subpar, people will be saying he was never that good to begin with, and so the old story goes. No I mean it, like EVERY time a fighter is on good form this happens
at 35, he looked very good in the ring, but also take into account that Cloud did next to absolutely nothing to make it more difficult for Stevenson what he did in the ring - respect, what he did outside- NO RESPECT
Stevenson has now three kids. He does not drink nor does he smoke. I am not a big fan either, just saying.
