this fight may not have the best fighters in the world, but it certainly looks to be a good one. i dont see it being talked about much, understandable considering the big fight tomorrow with klitch...

but the Stevenson vs Gonzales fight is looking to be building up alot of tension between the 2 fighters, which should make for an explosive fight...Gonzales claims a rnd 6 KO....Stevenson says the night will be short....sounds like fireworks...

Stevenson will be all over Gonzales , is really mad at him! Adonis weighted 165,5 and said it was to keep room for tomorrow weight in!

This should have been some kind of 'leaving on a stretcher' thread. :p

This is a big weekend of boxing but this is probably going to be the best fight of the weekend. It tough to pick a winner but I'd lean towards Gonzales by late stoppage.

Darnell Boone is from Ohio, you must be supporting him to a certain extent. Boone beat Stevenson. Gonzales beat Boone.

Is this your frame of reference in supporting a late Gonzo TKO? :?

Stevenson KO5. Dude's an animal. :smoke

Due to their styles this match up has ko written all over it so it very likely someone is getting stopped here. The Boone fight does stick in the back of your mind when evaluating this fight but I think Gonzales' age and experience will be a factor here.

Stevenson looked good in the two fights I've seen since Boone and I agree he is an animal, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he wins-this is a 50/50 fight.

This fight doesn't have the star power of some of the other fights this weekend but this is the fight I'd like to see most. Its pretty much gauranteed to be all action.

Wait, you lost me here. Because I asked you, who are from Ohio, if the Boone fights (both of them - and Boone is from Ohio) were your frame of reference for predicting a late Gonzales stoppage, "it sticks in the back of my mind"?!?? How impertinent and condescending is that?!???!?!?

    :huh

I think you're in for a bit of a surprise. Stevenson doesn't come off as an intelligent fella, but certainly looks pissed to the highest extent in his last interview (last night). He didn't even want to answer all of them questions, was gonna leave but Yvon Michel put his foot down. At one point he said "he's gonna get it!! KO!!" real loud. Not that it matters, but Stevenson is also taking Gonzales to court for the pimp/****-on-minors accusations.

I change my prediction to Stevenson KO3. :yep

Not sure how I was condesceding, Boone being from Ohio has zero influence for me, I couldn't care less where Boone is from. I simply said Boone stopping Stevenson early does pop up in the back of my mind when trying to play this fight out. It was olnly a few fights ago so I can't just ignore it, its just a matter of how much weight it carries.

I can see Stevenson beating Gonzales, like I've said I see this as a very even match up, but ko 3 seems a bit generous. I was on the fence about who would win and if by ko or decison and I lean towards stoppage because I think these two are going to exchange a lot of punches. I see Gonzales as being a bit better and more experienced so I think he wins tonight.

Yeah, KO3 was a bit generous. Poor Gonzo. :D

Edit: and Bogart, I thought "the fight does stick in the back of your mind" was directed at me personally for asking such a question. My bad.
