all fighters have to go through.

You have to do more than be able to land hard punches in that ring. You need an all around game to survive in boxing.

The choice to just wade in and fight inside is not something everyone can do...especially after going down. This is a very good win for Stevenson.

I think that he tried to please the crowd and go for the early ko and wasted some energy.

He threw a ton of heavy punches while circling off the backfoot most of the night. Not surprising that Fonfara's pressure wore him down.

He out a lot of power into his punches early. Home crowd seemed to push him in the end though.

i agree, that's why I don't understand why people claim a fighter is **** after going in against a tough SOB, same as Lucas vs Molina

typically you go through the fire against a top opponent, not someone like fonfara.

Kovalev would DESTROY Stevenson, he just went life and death with a mediocre fighter....

I didn't think his performance was bad at all. You can't look perfect in every fight. Nix you so, the. You aren't fighting anyone.

Kovalev has never been under fire. Ever. His judgement day is coming though.

Until you are hit square on your chin or hurt to the body to the point that you have to dig deep, you can talk about it, but dealing with that situation is another animal.

Stop with the lame excuses already. He's always goes for the KO...always.

His defense is leaky and he's so open to right hands because of his bad habits...keeping his hands low and pulling straight back. Makes play too many mistakes.

Who's to say that Kovalev would have survived the early onslaught ...
