Source: http://www.tvasports.ca/2015/01/07/stevenson-en-action-a-quebec-en-septembre ...both fights will take place in Quebec City. Maybe people in Montreal threw rotten tomatoes at him last time out. Possibilities, pending Haymon's veto: -Fonfara rematch, winner of Kovalev-Pascal -Campillo, Fonfara rematch -Campillo, winner of Kovalev-Pascal (...) What's your guess?
His 1st fight of 2015 will be weak, Campillo or Fonfara sounds about right. If IBF forces the mando with Mohameddi then fighting Stevenson in September is really out of question.
The Coward Stevenson will run from any major opposition, anyone with a decent chin that can box got his #
Look I hate Stevenson but before becoming the WBC LHW champion he was at 168 and was mando for the IBF belt that Froch won. It was obvious Froch wasn't interested in that fight, as he was a no name back then, high risk low reward who didn't bring anything to the table. He also called out Ward at 168 but Ward was mute on that front. Back on topic... he fought 4 times in 2013 and nowhe's fighting only twice ? Haymon...
Spring '13: Stevenson first called out Froch when he was the IBF mando / when Froch was IBF titlist. Summer '13: Stevenson then moved up with no hope of getting a Froch fight, beat Dawson and called Ward out for a there & back fight package (Oakland @ 168, Montreal @ 175). http://www.torontosun.com/2013/06/11/andre-ward-says-stevenson-doesnt-deserve-to-fight-him
Stevenson went from fighting 4 times in 2013 to 2 in each of the next 2 years. Thats pretty disappointing. If you're going to fight just twice a year and you're the champ you really should be looking to fight the very best, or close to it, each time out and Stevenson seems to have given up on doing that. Shame that Stevenson seems determined to squander his title reign after breaking though to the big time.
Will not watch Stevenson fight until he fights Kovalev. His ratings on Showtime show I am not alone they have been abysmal.
