This guy is rough rugged and raw, but I feel that this guy is going to pose problems for the division and pretty much clean it out. Don't think any fighter around that weight class would have stood up to that.

The punch diddnt even land flush, so on that i think if anyone with a half decent respectable dig would have flattened him. Bellew beats Stevenson

His too old, having said that sugar Sergio Martinez didn't blossom till he was in his 30s.

Rough, raw and 35, yes - rugged? hmm.. not sold. Check out Stevenson Boone 1. A fighter who relies on power over skill reaching the top at age 35 isn't gonna have much longevity I think.

The KO was pretty impressive and I'm not trying to take anything away from it, but TKO/KO 1s often tell us little about the quality of a fighter, and there has been considerable questions asked about Dawson ever since the Ward fight.

If one takes Hopkins out of the equation (and father time surely will...Eventually), there's obviously still Ward at 168 and (if he keeps form against White on Sat) Sergei Kovalev at 175 who has better skill, more reliably proven power and is 5 years younger.

I know how easy it is to get carried away with big hitters, but I really wouldn't be betting the house just yet. A new era? At 35 years old. No.

And as a PS he really needs to man up and make a public apology to his victims, specially now he's achieved a higher profile - what do you think they're feeling right now seeing him feted on all the Canadian sports pages? A sizable donation of his winnings to the appropriate Victims Charities might help a little as well.

I woildn't be surprised at all if he gave up the title in his 1st defense, unless its a soft one.

Great KO, great win... but let's not get too carried away yet.

That's the first top guy he's faced, and we really don't know if Chad was already basically damaged goods. The fight was too short to get a read on how he fares against elite competition.

Spoilers like Ward and B-Hop might well be his Kriptonyte. Does he have a plan B if he can't land his bombs?

I hope you're right... but you're jumping the gun a little no?

For those stating that he is 35!well yh pretty late in the day to be the lineal champ... But guys like pascal bute, cloud will get knocked out. Don't see anyone in that division standing up to this man. Like floyd states he a dawg and gorilla !!!

I would love to see him face the winner of Bute/Pascal. That would be a great fight/event in Canada. Always refreshing to see another country hosting big boxing events.
