If you have listened to Steve's podcast yesterday you'll have noted a criticism of Jeffries for spending too much time online rather than concentrating on training etc.

You may have seen this video too....

    http://www.facebook.com/olympian.tony?ref=ts&v=wall#!/video/video.php?v=140708875947907&ref=mf

During the video he also has a dig at boxing fans within the forums etc, saying that ''it's not nice'' and that he really appreciates messages of support from his fans on FB and twitter.

    So.....

My question is - will Jeffries come back stronger and become the fighter we all hoped he would do, or will he continue to surround himself with positive messages from people that don't know what they are on about and continue on a downward spiral?

Would he be better served taking advice off the British forum, or his cutman, than his 10k followers online?

    :good

He should take advice from people who know about boxing, and not from people on internet boxing forums

I have never rated him he should go back to flipping burgers outside the Stadium Of Light in my honest opinion.

he'll never improve as a fighter until he realises that you need to listen to constructive criticism. if he thinks he is the perfect fighter and doesn't need to improve then he is probably too far gone to change.

Agreed. Fair enough if he's slagging off lads who go onto his page just to have a bit of a gloat but he showed after his fight with Nathan King that he didn't react well to the constructive criticism from the Sky commentary team and I can't really see that having changed a great deal.

I actually think Jeffires could be good. Bunceys comments were spot on, he needs to concentrate more on his boxing than self promotion, althouggh I do not think you should be overly critical of a boxer using social media to boost his profile and interact with his fans.

At the end of the day, his twitter followin will start to diminish if he has a few more draws with journeyman.

The major problem with Jeffires is that outside the ring, he isnt very smart, same can be said of his father who is also his manager. Turning down a contract with Frank Warren to sign with Denis Hobson!!!!

Reading between the lines- of his article on the other thread- it appears that he may rejoin Gallagher, thats my prediction. Look for a Freddie Roach- Joe Gallagher connection.

I've never rated Jeffries and i think he'd do well to achieve anything at domestic level.

But his recent performances, going into a fight not knowing how many rounds it is, blaming everything but himself and then cringeworthy twitter updates and astounding facebook videos (a particular highlight of which, was Jeffries holding his arm up to the camera so everyone could see a tiny bruise on his bicep) has all concerned me.

I've said it many times. He needs to jack twitter/facebook, move to a different training team and concentrate 100% on boxing.

I've heard Carl Froch say good things about Jeffries, as a fighter. Maybe Jeffries should take a leaf our of Carl's book on how to be the ultimate professional - inside and outside of the ring. Froch's dedicated his life to the sport. Jeffries will have to do the same if he want's to achieve anything.

Twitter and Facebook are for TWATS.

I am a big fan of Jeffries but he has done very little to improve since he turned pro. Hopefully the next year of his career will be a success rather than a struggle against journeymen.

He would do well do do what Jeff said.
