Johnston by 3 or 4 points in an entertaining, skilled action fight.

I actually think that Johnston is the more skilled fighter (regardless of weight classes or primes) and will get the job done by staying close to Marquez and working him over to the body with technical aplomb, together with the occasional unexpected jolt upstairs which will find its way on Marquez.

Juan is a proud man and will not be discouraged so i expect him to give a good account of himself and get into the fight in the later stages and show that his heart, if not his skills, are more than a match for Stevie's.

great matchup. i'll take johnston by close decision. johnston never beat anyone as good as marquez but something tells me he could have pulled this off.

Stevie is a bit overrated by hardcore fans. He'd give Marquez a helluva fight, but in reality Stevie was too hittable and not powerful enough to beat Marquez. JMM's accuracy would be the differance, and Stevie would get damaged over the long haul.

    Like Norwood and Chris John?

I think you could make the same argument for Marquez, though.

Na, like Mayweather and an ancient Casamayor.

Stevie Johnston went 24 rounds with Castillo no problem, I hardly think Marquez is going to damage him any more than Castillo could.

As for Johnston's lack of power, don't really see that as an issue. This fight could be contested a 100 times and it would go the full route every time.

Close fight, Marquez might be a bit too old and faded at 135 to get it done.

I'll go Johnson, close UD. I could easily be wrong, but I think Marquez might have lost a step by now, and Johnson, while often overrated, was still quite good.

Your going to pick two fights he lost to make that point? John's a hell of a fighter and still undefeated. Norwood wasnt too shabby himself, just nuts. Johnston was a skilled fighter, but hes far more overated than Marquez.

Why Castillo is far more limited than Marquez. Slick southpaws can handle pressure fighters a lot easier than a skilled guy.

At 135 I think this is a toss up since JMM is past his best weight and best years but he has the style to handle Johnston.
