Stevie by about 117-111. Stevie was a brilliant boxer with solid pop in his gloves and I think he'd bust up Philip pretty good by the end, but Holiday had a lot of spunk and with Johnsons occasional lapses I can see him picking up a few rounds.
I like Stevie and think in many ways he is a level above Holiday. But I also think Phil would be a really bad fight for Stevie...Johnston could really mooch up sometimes and Holiday is the last guy you want to get lazy with, he will just keep throwing all night.
I'm talking about the Johnston that fought Manfredy. Stevie was "on" that night, and didnt have any lapses.
I would tend to agree that stylistically Holiday would be tough for Johnston, but Stevie in his prime could infight with anyone. I really think he would have outclassed the swarming Holiday, losing a few rounds, but generally using his subtle inside skills to pile out sharp scoring blows while evading many of Holiday's volume punches. something like 117-111 sounds right.
Stevie via typical hard fought decision. Holiday might throw all night, but Johnston would as well, and at the end of the day, he's too educated for Philip.
Johnston was a good boxer but he had no pop in his gloves. He was also very short. I still think he beats Holiday who wasnt that great.
Ask Juan Lazcano who a past prime Johnston dropped HARD if Stevie Johnston can punch. I'm not saying he hits as hard as Shane Mosley, but he would hit hard enough to possibly discourage Holiday.
