I agree with this, I think Steward seems more like a hired "mercenary" trainer. He didn't seem to be upset about it anyway, he was much more interested in Andy Lee's fight. I mean, he wasn't even there for any of the 3 press conferences. It was just Cotto all by himself on one side while Margarito, Robert Garcia trainer, and the manager on the other side. Cotto needs him to work with him for the full 8-10 week camp and he says no, can only be with you about 5 weeks? Really? What the hell is that about? If he's not fully committed to the task, then Cotto made the right move, get the guy who is in it all the way; whether it works we'll have to see. I think Dawson had a similiar reasoning for leaving, Steward wanted Dawson to go to Kronk so he could keep tabs on both Dawson and Andy Lee. Emanuel Steward seems to only really be fully committed to 2 fighters: Andy Lee and Wlad Klitschko.

I didn't see any improvements at all in Cotto, sounds like Cotto saved himself 50k.

    Pretty much.

I'm a Lennox hater, but Steward seemed like a scumbag by writing how Lennox retired rather than face the elder Klit brother again.

I'd figure that someone making 20 million can easily give the man who helped them develop or maintain or in the least get ready for that 20 mil pay day a lousy 2 million.

Where as a fighter making 100,000 would have a harder time giving 10,000.

Cotto is very confident he will take margarita down with or without Steward.

$50k is not a deal breaker for Cotto with the bank he has.

Margarita is in for a humiliating starching!

All things considered, it seems too little attention was not worth so much money. Makes sense.

    negative.

    It's 2 million dollars !!!!

Max is about 400k which is absoloutley huge for overseeing a training camp and boxing tactics

A trainer could have his lower end fighters in the camp as well and prepare them, a boxer can only work so many hours a day, a trainer can go on and on

Cotto never seemed to be the sharpest tool in the shed. He could have certainly done better than this current guy for a trainer.

hw went cheap on paq, too.

some little boy cant remember his name. they were more concerned about making weight than anything else.

horrible decision sending a boy to do a man's job.

Cotto has a few personality problems that don't mix well.

    1. Stubborn
    2. Stupid

Steward is'nt a man of high character.

Situations like whats happening with him with Cotto have happened to him frequently before.

The worst part is that Steward acts like a spoiled child.
He takes it to the media.

Steward was all sour grapes and to this day does'nt speak highly of his dealings with Evander Holyfield.

Holyfield parted ways with Steward because Holyfield who was making mega-millions at the time, thought the % cut Steward was asking from the ammount he was bringing in was to high a price to pay Steward.

Holyfield offered Steward a set ammount (not a %) of his purse to Steward. The ammount was more than any cut Steward was making at the time.
......and I dont mind that Steward turned down Holyfield's offer. What I find distasteful of Steward is that he took it to the media to belittle Holyfield.

Steward is of such low character that he takes these personal business matter dealings to the media and cries about it, trying to make the fighter who dumped him look bad.
