I hope Cotto stops all 3 of them and then retires.

Why is there not a talk of Cotto - Martinez?

I think Cotto will give him a good run for the money.

Cotto vs Margarito is awesome to try to avenge his loss
Cotto vs Pacquaio shouldn't happen. Pac will beat him again
Cotto vs Canelo would be nice to see if canelo can hang with one of the best jr middleweight today.

How the **** are you a coward when you go toe to toe against a man with plaster in his gloves?

    You're an imbecile.

Steward's scenario will never play out because Cotto will lose to Margarito again.

DoubleM- One thing Cotto is Not is a coward. The guy's got as much heart as anyone in boixng. Ducks no one. Never makes excuses. He's a credit to the sport.

Stranger things have happened in the sport, trust me. Although nowhere in my post did I indicate Cotto would win, only that buzz would be generated if Cotto had consecutive fights against big names and won while showing significant improvement.

Anyone wonder why he dont mention Floyd? Is it the testing?

and this is a serious question not a low ball...at one point these two were a big a fight....i think it still could be very good if Cotto keeps winning.

Younger Cotto was able to buzz Canelo. I'd like to see what older Cotto could do against him.

I'm really looking foward to the Cotto-Margarito rematch, I think Cotto wins this one but its going to be a good fight and Margarito is going to make it a war again.

Pac-Cotto 2 isn't a bad fight even though Pac would be a solid favorite. Their first fight was exciting until Pacquaio took over in the second half but for about half a fight it was pretty good. A Pac-Cotto rematch is far from the first fight I want to see for Pac and I hope he fights some other guys first, but if a Cotto rematch came off I'd watch what would probably be an entertaining rematch with a similar result.

I can see a Cotto-Alvarez fight happening sometime in 2012 or 13. By the time that fight came off Cotto would be solidly on the downside of his career and Alvarez will be on the rise. You'd have to think Alvarez would beat that version of Cotto. I can see Cotto fighting more than 2-3 times to be honest. I don't think he hangs around for another 5 years or anything like that but I can see him gettin in another 4-5 fights before hanging them up. He will always get big money offers and I doubt he turns them all down.

those are the two fights cotto should be asking for margarito which he got and then pacquiao... no matter what any fan said an athlete is a competitor and cotto should try to avenge both losses even if he lose he went out the right way not running away from challenges...

plus those fights will give him the retirement money he needs

Its a cliche with Cotto but i do see Alvarez beating him , Alvarez is very fresh , younger and stronger than Cotto , he's well schooled enough to hang with Cotto in boxing terms and would have to up his work rate and output on the night to beat Cotto which i think he would do .

That said , Cotto has looked sharp and comfortable @54 , all be it against pondlife but all the same , he stood and banged it out with essentially a MW in Mayorga which deserves credit as he was once seen as a small WW , Alvarez is clearly not Yuri Foreman or a shot Mayorga , but Cotto is still very capable and IMO a worthy P4P entry .

Im convinced he will starch a shot Margo , and then who knows from there , i suppose we'll get our answers in the Margo fight as to who he fights next , Pacquiao talk is insanity , Alvarez hmmm , why not , id still like to see him and Berto go at it , and i would like to see him fight Chavez Jr as i see this as a lower risk high reward for Cotto , which frankly he ****in deserves ............

I am fully expecting clueless fans to immediately demand a rematch with Pacquiao if Cotto looks good against Margarito. Pacquiao is wrong for Cotto as proven already, too much speed, stamina and power.

    I agree. :thumbsup

If I were his manager, I would say:

    1. Margartio is a must win fight, but will be a war.

    2. JCC Jr., much easier fight and could be a big draw - Easy money for Cotto

    3. Canelo, be a huge fight and another war.

Assuming Cotto still looks good after those fights, then maybe a final giant payday with Pac, assuming Pac is even still around at that point himself.
