You are one idiot. Is True Writer you're twin  I think Frazier would surprise a few ATG heavies and i can't see many beating him pre-foreman.

Nice to see some originality for once. If that's their lists, and they've actually worked in the sport for longer than I've been alive, then fair enough.

Must have killed Glancy, who was biased as ****, to leave Emile Griffith out.

    Other than that, predictable lists.

I actually heard that Dundee later changed his mind and churned out this "gem" of a list -

    1. Ali
    2. Leonard
    3. Napoles
    4. Foreman
    5. Hearns
    6. Hagler
    7. Liston
    8. Chuvalo
    9. Spinks (Leon, of course)
    10. Lalonde

You have to expect this from guys like this...they are always going to favour their fighters or fighters they either had some affiliation with or beat guys they did.

More then likely these blokes wouldnt bother to much with the history of the sport outside the fighters they looked after..which doesnt mean they arent extremely knowledgeable but maybe not in a way that allows them to formulate a fair and impartial list.

Clancy's is the best IMO (and that's not saying much).

Duva and Dundee are pretty much auto-DQ'd for including Giardiello and Basilio...

Steward's is just comical in that he included Hearns but omitted Leonard. Foreman doesn't belong on the list, either.

Clancy has 8 pretty good names and then Marciano and Johnson. Marciano is a longshot but definitely an ATG and at ~185lbs one of, if not the, top fighter. Johnson was a class operator and ATG at LHW/HW, a clear cut above someone like Carmen.

Anybody in the top 10 P4P had better either be #1 in their best weight class or on the list below the best of their weightclass, unless they are someone like Langford or Fitz who did their best work over several divisions.

I havent read any comments by the other guys but Ive read Clancy`s interview were he goes quickly thru his list explaining his choices or most of them anyway.

I remember he says Pep was the best p4p because he usually fought in the other guys home town & still beat everyone amounting an amazing record in his prime, he says Pep had trouble with Saddler because Sandy was a freak, about 6 foot tall & Pep still got a win over him, he says everybody else Pep just took apart (I assume he meant outboxed)

He called Robinson a great technician that could do it all & knew what he had to do to get rid of a guy (not much on the great sugar ray I must say but at least he gave a ****in interview explaining his choices not like the others.)

Steward's list is crazy, how bitter is this guy against Leonard .. He has Ali at number 1 when Ali himself says Robinson was 'The Greatest', he has Hearns and Hagler in the top 10 but no Sugar Ray Leonard, Carlos Monzon or Ricardo Lopez, all of whom were better fighters than Hearns and Hagler, in my humble opinion .. Actually i think Pernell Whitaker was a better fighter than Hearns and Hagler even though im a huge fan of these guys
