too bad manny wasnt his trainer before the margo fight teaching him how to clinch.

 

switching trainers is overrrated. Its only good if the fighter is young,crude or inexperienced.

 

but in this case, there are certain little things that manny can refine to make cotto better.

Now there is a trainer that would help cotto. He wouldnt try and change what he does the way that Steward will....Floyd Mayweather Sr would be good for Cotto, being that he would teach him to be a better defender. Steward would change everything...I just cant get over how different for the worst that Hamed and Taylor were under Steward...Even Wlad fans blamed Steward for his loses...

 

Steward is good with fighter that are tall and lanky, hence wlad, lee, and lewis. his success with more compact fighters like Cotto isn't that great. He's good at teaching fighters to "fight tall"
