In a recent interview with Primerahora, Steward pointed out again that he will not change Cotto's style but rather get rid of his bad habits. He also says that he will take him back to the same style that fought Mosley and Pinto. Steward says in the article: " In this stage of training camp I talk to him a lot. Miguel has been listening attentively is always willing to learn. His only mistake was that he fell into bad habits which I am correcting. People say that the way to beat Miguel is to block and land uppercuts, we are correcting that." He also pointed out that Miguel used to lower his head and torso a lot which made him a very easy target but they are also working on that.

Thing is, he got those habits by fighting Mosley.

When a man was physically stronger, more enduring than him, he fell on his bike, and ate shots from guys coming forward. And we all know he took most shots on the tail end of a shot, where it has most leverage.

I think Cotto has took some irreversable damage, and I don't know if Manny Steward is able to turn back the clock to be honest.

I'm still a Cotto fan nonetheless, and will always be.

But the way he fought in the Pinto days...is not the way he was in the Mosley days.

Manny is a great trainer but I think he may be doing too much too soon. I will be a Cotto fan as long as possible and his wins/losses will never change that.

Cotto has taken ALOT of punishment in his career, and taken TWO horrific beatings. Those thinking he has "alot" left in the tank are dreaming.
