:good Steward knows to teach fighters to use the height perfectly like he did with Wlad and Lennox Lewis.
I was really hoping to see Paul Williams move down to 154 and have some wars with Kirkland and Angulo, but I don't know he's damaged goods at this point, RJJ style.
Why? It is the mistakes he makes. Otherwise he has everything you would want in a fighter, a good chin, good power, good speed, height, reach, a will to fight, and heart. If Manny could just get him to stop falling in it would be a huge improvement.
if you can judge talent, you'd see Williams has talent but williams has always been an aggressive fighter, who throws punches in bunches. how much can steward change Williams without turning him into a completely different fighter?
Ah another ******ed "Fighter needs a new trainer because he got ktfo from a perfect punch" thread You ****ers should all be shot.. Williams has a great trainer that told him to do all of the right things based on his view of the first round....Anybody who has trained or boxed before will tell you that. Fighters that typically change trainers so late in the game usually fail....wait till Cottos next big test....if there is one.
Depends on the person. He would have to take Williams much further than he did Klitschko but it could happen. If Williams is open to learning how to properly use his size. Most don't understand that a jab from a bigger guy is like a straight right from a smaller guy. They hurt like a power punch. They also push you back and put you where he needs you to be so he can line up a true home run. For Williams he needs to recognize this. A hard jab and a straight left will take him to the top of these divisions if he is true to them. As soon as he abandons them he is in trouble.
and you can pretty much say, it not really all about the trainer but the fighter, himself. this is the way williams has always been fighting that way. and if you noticed, even steward was saying he was doing well in the first. (even though he was still getting tagged).
