Gives praise to Floyd for taking a young strong hungry and in prime. Steward thinks that it will be a difficult and dangerous fight for Floyd bc Ortiz will force him to fight in a way that he haven't fought in a long time. Agree?

Give praise to Pacquiao for putting thousands of people calling Floyd out for taking easy fights for if not for him the tune up would be vs Spadafora. Welters are stacked and to make the big time money any fighter is gonna be at risk as they will face tough talent with no guarantee to win no matter what.

Some of this depends on Victor's footwork and general foot speed. I think he needs to attack, attack, and attack, and when he's finished attacking, attack some more. He can only make that work if he can keep PBF in front of him.

It's a decent fight, but I won't be satisfied with either of Floyd or Pac's opponents at WW until they face each other. The fight is long overdue.

Ortiz may make Floyd work harder than usual, but even with the age and layoff, I think Floyd beats him handily.

Hope so..... b/c the only person I saw who presented a challenge 147 and down was Manny. it would be nice to think Ortiz is the goods and will prepare Floyd for the test that awaits him in Manny. I highly doubt Floyd has problems with vic but this has been the yr of the upsets. We could see JMM vs Ortiz in 2012.

Someone needs to give Manny that same type of scolding. Maybe he would fight someone coming off a good victory and not a fake knockdown garbage fight.

id say this goes similar to the hatton fight but easier

Ortiz comes one way and with no jab

Floyd will figure him out very quickly

Ortiz aggression will lead to his down fall

Think about this the only 2 times Berto ever set up a decent right Ortiz was down

Floyd has a much better right

Yeah, right until about the 3rd round, and when it becomes obvious PBF will dominate, you'll hear 'this is just what I thought would happen!'

    Disagree.

I don´t give Ortiz much of chance against May Jr. Ortiz is way too predictable and style-wise custom made for Floyd. Ortiz is a offensive fighter who doesn´t circle much (=he´ll be in zone for Floyds counters all the time), doesn´t look for angles for power shots, he´ll just attack (with crosses mostly) and look for trade-outs (= won´t pose a thread for Floyd), isn´t fast enough for Floyd etc.

I just don´t see the tools that Ortiz has to challenge Floyd..."he needs to attack, attack, attack", come on! Floyd is the best defensive fighter at the moment. Simple "put the pressure on him and try to make it a slug-fest" won´t work.

    I disagree.

Floyd is gonna dominate him and possibly stop him. I don't see how Victor is taking one round off Floyd, unless he tries to bumrush and gets the crowds ooh's and aah's in the first round, thus winning that specific round.

If he does that he'll get the crowd excited, and not long after that he's gonna get knocked spark out.

he may win 1 or 2 of the first 4 when Floyd is usually most vulnerable however if you open and forcce a fight on floyd it back fires mosley did good round 1 hurt him round 2 and then floyd was all over him

more patient guys dont get beaten up as bad cause they dont provide openings

nothing about ortiz is cautios no lateral movement no jab no defense just one way all offense

    he will get knifed apart

Steward says this about pretty much every fight. He always says it's a competitive fight and then when Floyd starts dominating every round he will say "this fight is going exactly as i anticipated". Classic Emmanuel
