Oh my effin God, can you believe an effin Emmanuel Steward saying Pac is greater than Duran? Well I can't help but rub my pekpek as Steward was one of the Certified Pac-haters in all the Morales trilogy up to Cotto. Why is the Pac-hater now suddenly changing his tune? And by the way folks, do you remember Roger and Floyd Mayweather when asked by Eddie Murphy in 24/7 who is the greatest of all time? Their honest to goodness answer.... Roberto Duran!!!:shock::shock: Hmmmm what does that say about Pac then? Hep-hep...hooray :happy http://www.examiner.com/boxing-in-n...no-one-s-ever-lit-up-hbo-screen-like-pacquiao
Sorry guys but due to my pekpek excitement, I also forgot to write down that Steward also believes Pacquiao is the greatest HBO Star post Muhammad Ali Era!!! :good
I'm not sure Emmanuel Steward is the biggest fan of Roberto Duran. I know he believes Leonard won the first Duran - Leonard fight. Opinions are opinions though and Steward is a master of the craft.
Wow Lance then this can only even more buttress the statement that Pac is Greater than Floyd. Why? Because Floyd thinks Duran is the greatest, and Steward who is the most experienced Kronkesque Trainer and certified Joyboy to boot now thinks Pacquiao owns Duran Bigtime!!! Life is great, it gives my pekpek tingles :good
Roger said that Duran was the greatest Latino fighter of all time. And did Steward scream it at the top of his lungs, hence the exclamation points?
Didn't Freddie Roach himself say Duran was better? Guess it comes down to opinions. Duran's at the top of my P4P list (I've not had the pleasure of watching Ray Robinson enough to say he's the best, same with those other geez's like Langford and Greb.)
... waiting for 1st Pac hater to say Manny Steward is just promoting/hyping up HBO's cash cow aside from Floyd... Here's my response in advance.... Fail.
I think it's pretty even, but I would give Pacquiao the edge. Would be the most awesome fight ever if they had fought. I do however give Duran more credit for taking on the best fighters at higher weight without this catchweight bs.
Steward makes a valid point. They both are/were great power punchers and moved up in weight to fight bigger men. But Pacquiao has better foot work and hand speed and therefore can't be outboxed like Duran was (Leonard in the second fight, and Benitez).
How the hell do you know? What fighter of Leonard or Benitez caliber and ability has Pacquiao even fought, let alone beat? zero. You don't know how good he would do, he struggled against Marquez. Leonard would tear him up. Come on, man, what defensive wizard did Pacquiao fight similar to Benitez?? Pacquiao doesnt have a better jab than Duran, doesn't have the in-fighting greatness that Duran has, doesn't have the body work that Duran has, and doesn't have the underrated defensive abilities that Duran has (slipping punches, etc). Hell who has Pacquiao fought that was even similar to De Jesus?
