i am a big pacquiao fan. he is not greater than duran, because duran was a better fighter ability-wise, had one of the best lightweight reigns ever, and beat better fighters resume-wise. however, pacquiao is clearly now an all-time great and the greatest of this era, so he does merit comparison with the greats of the past. to compare him with duran is not a good comparison, as duran is one of the top 10 in history, but pacquiao can now be considered the equal of ATGs like chavez, arguello, sanchez, holyfield, etc.

You do realise that 16 of those losses occured after a 2 1/2 year retirement when he was about 33 or 34 & at age 30/31 Robinson had a record of something like 128-1-2 with 84 knockouts, right ? :huh

Please dont try compare Pacquiao with Robinson, its just wrong.

You're still underrating Pac. Duran lost to some B level fighters at welter & up. While Pac's fighting top welters back to back and dominating.

I wont argue that Duran is the greatest Lightweight coz he is. But Pac is trying to be the Greatest ever. There's only one name missing in his resume. That one is still on vacation. But that fight will eventiually happens when the chicken ran out of chicken food.

I think you overrate Mayweather, beating him wont land Pacquiao the no1 spot.

Ps. Mayweather is too good for Pacman anyway so Id forget that idea if I were you... clear UD in FMJs favour all day long.

i love pacquiao, but there is no argument for him being greater than duran. none. pac's best win is barrera, or maybe cotto. duran's is peak sugar ray leonard. that underlines the difference here.

Wrong!!! Pac's best wins were, Dlh, barrera, EM 2 & 3, Cotto, Sasakul, JMM, Hatton, Ledwaba, etc. there's too much to list. You have to take note who & where these guys were rated before Pac takes them on. And also how did Pac beats them.

I was teenager when Duran quits with SRL. I like Duran better than SRL but He quits!! It Disappoints the hell out of me that time. But Pac never dissapoints me yet!!! Even if he lost in the 1st Morales fight, I'm still amazed how he didn't give up and keep on trying.

Pac will be greater than Duran. I'm sure about that. I LIVED in both Eras, unlike most of u guys here.
