Im a little excited to see if steward is going to make a change. im assming he will be jabbing a lot more. I hope hde gets a few good fights then retire.
I hope he does well but I'm thinking it's too late and probably not a good match-up with Steward, even though it'll still be vastly better than Santiago.
I think it's too late for Cotto and I'm not sure how the two will gel. I'd like to have seen him with Roach.
I don't know what Steward saw in Cotto, he's been applying for the job for some time now. He's got it now, but yes I'm not also sure it's gonna make a difference at this point.
I'm sure there's a big payday in it but it also seems to me like he just likes him. But he sure doesn't look anything like Manny's best types. An alligator-armed, short and stocky converted southpaw? Ironically, Yuri Foreman strikes me more as Manny's type.
steweard is still living of his reputation he builded with hearns.. who has he made after hearns?? cotto already knows what he knows..a trainer no matter who he is is not going to make a difference.. is all about how much cotto wants it and how much he's willing to sacrifice in the gym for it.. he needs to train hard and and fight hard.. steward is not doing anything for this fight except getting a paycheck :hat
Good pick up for Cotto.Steward is an old school master who enjoys fighters who like to engage.Go Cotto and Manny!:thumbsup
Generally, this will be an improvement for Cotto, but the guys in Steward's stable do not focus enough on endurance training. Cotto's career has been affected by the fact that he is a ten round fighter.....I have a feeling Steward will not improve that part of his game.
