Steward to train Cotto.

chef you've worked with manny, what do you think?

 

Too late for Miguel, and Steward is very body-type specific. Manny does best with fighters who are taller and longer than average for their weight, who pack one punch KO power. Cotto isn't any of those things, and in fact will be fighting the taller and rangier man when he takes on Foreman.

 

I think that Manny will help more with a gameplan for the fights.. teach cotto how to clinch when needed and will slightly tweak cottos stlye not overhaul it.

Manny is also a master at the mental game and will help build Cotto up mentally . Its a great thing for Cotto if... and thats IF he listens to manny

 

chef whats mannys stance on conditioning? is he like jeff mayweather who just goes through the paces during the boxing sessions and leaves the coniditoning to the conditioning coach, or is he like roach who makes sure everything is done at 100%?

 

usually that is left to the boxer and other coaches. He works on the mitts, sparring and a lot of boxing talk and film watching of old fights and the opponent.

Manny will make sure the conditioning is being done as well as the food if a cook is not around. All depends on the fighter. like Wlad, he has so much experience that manny leaves him alone on stuff, just checks in sometimes. Others he will watch everything

foreman wants that name cotto under his belt...like he's liftin up a rock to see bugs scatter...and theres a big juicy cotto....sure ...that one.... give it a name.

unless cotto is gettin some nice dough.... i don't see him laying down to Yuri foreman in Yankee stadium that will be routing louder for him than most of Yuri's fans.

Arum puts on decent shows as long as nobody plays a role .

i think i remember him in a vitali fight working the corner, or i could be confused:huh:huh

 

no not Vitali. They do talk but manny doesnt work with him

 

I think this will make for a good fit, but I'm just wondering whether it is in time.

Steward's time has come and gone.

 

Cotto will be a safety fist boxer from now on. No more killer instinct for Cotto, like Klit etc...:-(
