Winky wouldn't take a fight with Abraham or Kessler that was offered by HBO - there's no way he takes a fight with Lee. I could care less about what Manny is saying right now. He's just hyping his man up. And Manny is the one that's asking for Wright.

No money in it for Winky. Not to mention I wouldn't want to see a young prospect like Lee rushed into a fight with a vet like Winky.

Steward should stick to his job as a trainer and dump himself as a manager - he won't allow Lee to sign with a big promoter which is a big error on his part. Manny sounds very amateurish with him trying to hype Lee to the max...it all sounds like that his fame goes to much to his head and might think he could do it all when in reality he can't...

thats ridiculous,no prospect should be put in with winky until they have already proven themselves at championship level, winky would own the ring,or is andy really that good?

Box Rec lists Brian Vera as Andy's next opponent. The guy is ranked #89. Yep -- sure looks like old andy is ready for Winky and Pavlik! Ah **** it -- put him with Klistko:nut

The fight makes sense. Winky is getting old and slowing down. Winky would also have to drop a lot of weight, and he is known to get out of condition between fights. Winky is not a really hard puncher, so even if Lee loses the loss wouldn't likely wreck him. Plus, Lee is younger, faster, hits harder, and would be the naturally bigger man.

It's very hard to find anyone in public who can talk boxing aside from the usual Tyson rhetoric. Yet, you have numerous posts like this so I must ask what streets do you live on?

Even the current past-it version of Winky would most likely beat Andy Lee.

No, he has to get past Mike Tyson first.

Winky is the prototype fighter you don't want a green prospect to face. I don't buy it.
