I too seen him live at the Hammerstien ballroom in his 1st loss. It ended in a riot, when Codrington who was the other half of the chincheckers rushed the ring. IMO 5'7 is generous. I think hes about 5'5. He doesnt have the reach to get inside & tonight Brinkley showed that Stevens power isnt what it was supposed to be. I dont see Stevens ever fighting for a world title

Brinkley has two assets that alot of fighters lack.
    Physical toughness and mental toughness.

I knew this was going to be a good fight.
Stevens is a bully - he acts like it and he fights like it (this isn't a slam on Stevens)
But Brinkley thrives against people who try to bully him.
Physically he can take what is given, but mentally he doesn't let himself get too shook while fighting.

Stevens is 24 years old.. He needs to be in there with some decent quality guys so he can play target practice.... Then, he'll be ready... Give em a Kingsley Ikeke to play with.. Maybe a Joey Gilbert.... He'll be back when he gets smarter...

    Ran out of forks.

And I thought he might do something with all his pathetic ninja gangster entrances.

  5. But he's from Brownsville, yo!

    He represents, yo!

inactivity will kill fighters.....the guy is young and now only fighting 2 times a year and when he does, fight cans ....what do you excpect....when you fight guys with records of 35-21, 8-2, 9-3-1 in your last few fights over 2 years...you deserve what you get. he did fight a 22-0 guy in his last fight...but when those 22 wins come against guys with just disgraceful losing records...it really means not much more than beating a 5-3-2 guy

Watching Dirrell-Stevens made me wish that some boxers could be banned from television for the sake of the sport

Come on bro -- Brinkley was freaking tripling up on his jab, and at times seemed like he just couldn't miss with the right hand. What happens when Pavlik "doubles the ****ing jab" and throws hard right hands behind it?

However, I've seen a bunch of Brinkley's fights, and I've never seen him look as good as he did tonight.

Brinkley has looked good since the Spina fight. He was easily dominating Spina when he was KOed by a bodyshot.
After that, Brinkley has looked dominant in most of his fights, and he usually shows up with a good game plan.

I remember that fight against Dirrell on HBO about a year and a half ago. He looked terrible there too. I know Dirrell will do that to you but Stevens looked especially bad.

Didn't he in Codrington come up togeather, both didn't pan out but at least Jaidon had heart, just no chin.

Stevens couldn't keep his left hand up and it showed.

Good game plan -- yes. In my opinion he was out thinking and out smarting Stevens all night. Stevens won the first round, and you could make an argument for giving him the second. After that it was all Brinkley. I didn't understand why Brinkley was considered the under dog to tell you the truth.
