Groves can beat Steiglitz but then what happens. His mandatory would be Arthur Abraham or Andre Dirrell.
Abraham would be intriguing and I would give Groves big props for taking that fight. Dirrell would make Groves worse than he did Froch. Tbf if he did win then I am sure Frank could work his WBO 'magic' and get a few Karpencys in before any real test.
Yup, Grove's has already said he's not ready to mix it with the best, this will just give his holy Fwankstain another reason to mug off the fans.
Groves edges it, I reckon, but should be a cracking fight. Groves's backers are wise to get him this. If he wins this he will look superb having won a world title on so few fights. If he loses, he has the excuse of this shot coming too early in his career and his reputation doesn't suffer too bad as a result. Factor in also the sizeable payday and the exposure this fight will bring him, and taking the fight looks like a very wise idea.
Yeah it just gives Frank another WBO belt to play with for a while. He won't really care long term for George Groves, but if he can win it'll give Frank a load of potential fights he can make for that poxy WBO strap (DeGale and Anderson rematches etc) as well as easy-ish fights for Groves to defend (Karpency, Laryea, Evenson etc)
I reckon Groves might scrape it, he's a pretty talented fighter and I can envision him outworking Stieglitz from the outside. Also if he catches Stieglitz with the right shot it's not out of the question that he could stop the German. On the other hand, I wouldn't be overly surprised if Stieglitz stopped Groves. George is vulnerable as big Kenny Anderson showed, and Stieglitz ground down Karoly Balzsay who isn't a bad fighter at all, fairly tough himself.
