According to Canadian journalist Dave Spencer, the other half of the Andrade brothers, Enrique Ornelas, will challenge Robert Stieglitz for the WBO 168lbs belt on october 15. That's a friday so I'm guessing it's going to be on the undercard of Bute-Brinkley since the germans rarely make boxing cards on fridays.
If Stieglitz comes to Montreal to fight Ornelas (who is already training here), that means they are seriously preparing a Bute-Stieglitz fight.
A Unification fight is better then nothing I guess. Bute would have the IBF and WBO and the winner of the super will have the WBC and WBA. Then they can fight for all the marbles.
Yup. I think they had that plan a bit ago. With the super 6 changes, they also have other possibilities. Two out of Froch, Abraham, Dirrell or Ward will be available. They may want an easier fight than Bute for their post-tournament career though. Stieglitz, followed by one the semi-finals losers? We'll see. At least, Bute has more options for the beginning of next year.
