I lost interest in this potential matchup a while back when it became apparant it would never happen. After the KO loss by manny no one seems to care any more. Anybody still interested in seeing this?

There always will be some interest but it is no longer the biggest fight.

Pac needs to have a dominant win against a name fighter and people won't care he got knocked out.

He comes back, shows he dominant, says he didn't "train hard" for JMM. And the general public will look past it.

I had no interest in the fight once I noticed Pacquiao was no longer at his best. Make no mistake about it though, Floyd is more to blame for the fight not taking place. I always thought Floyd would beat Pacquiao, but for whatever reason, he had no interest in proving that.

I lost interest in this fight after Pac/Bradley, not to mention after knowing it was never gonna happen in the first place.

Now its not even in the top 10 of fights Id want to see made in boxing.

**** all parties involved for not making it happen when it mattered (2008 / 2009)

If Manny can fight like he did in the early parts of the Marquez fight in his next bout, then absolutely.

I started losing interest a couple of years ago. Now that it looks like it wouldn't even be competitive I have none.

I"m sure that fight will set record in PPV even now, because of casual fans...

People basing their lack of interest based on Marquez's success need to realize it's a different dynamic.

People want Mayweather to fight the very best option out there for him.

This is either because they want him so badly to lose, or that they want him to further his legend/resume.

Pacquiao no longer does that. Mayweather/Alvarez > Mayweather/Pacquiao in 2012, and potentially, Pacquiao will never again enter the short list of best options to boost Mayweathers' career.

I agree, but it did not matter in 2008/2009. Mayweather was retired and Pacquiao had a whopping one fight at WW against Oscar before the Cotto fight at the very end of 2009. It became relevant right after that fight. So, the very very beginning of 2010, and we all know what happened with those negotiations and who each of them went on to fight.

Elaborate. Pacquiao was KO'd clean by a straight right. Floyd throws the straight right as good as anyone in the game right now. **** he clocked Gatti with 3 in a row (yes I know Gatti's defense was ****). Floyd is bigger, stronger, faster, and punches harder than Marquez. There is nothing that Manny has ever shown me to make me believe he could beat Floyd and the marquez fights only further support that argument. Sure it would have been nice if they had settled it in the ring instead of leaving us to argue about it but at this point who cares?

If Floyd beats him, it will be a cherry picked opponent that's already been KO'd. The fight really represents nothing for floyd now other than money and he's already shown that he can make money fighting his own shadow.

    :patsch

Since 06, the fighters which support your argument:
Judah - coming off Upset of the Year loss to Baldomir
Oscar - semi-retired, but last defeat was 2.5 years prior to Hopkins

Since 06, the fighters which make you look pretty damn stupid:
    Baldomir - hadn't lost in 8 years
    Hatton - undefeated
Marquez - became lineal and unified LW champ between Pac II defeat
Mosley - win streak of Mayorga & Margarito since the close Cotto L
Ortiz - 5-0-1, 2+ years since the Maidana KO loss
Cotto - 3-0 at JMW since moving up after Pac KO loss

Everybody seem to have lost interest but it's no biggie, Floyd also have no interest.
